I have been twice in Helsinki (only for one day ) and everytime I go to this Thai massage I am totally satisfied

'TravelVav' wrote 01.10.2018 "Not what I expected" and I totally share her opinion, although I visited the Namina/Töölö Mannerheimintie shop.
Enjoying thai massage for 99euros and lying in small hut next to the entrance door and only separated with curtains from the entrance area is everything but enjoyable experience and absolutely not worth the money. The quality of the massage was ok, but not outstanding by any means. I felt there was no reason to meet the masseur again and I definitely will visit somewhere else next time.

My review is based on two visits to Namina spa. I've had a 90-minute foot massage on both occasions, first one in Tehtaankatu and the second in Töölö branch.
The ambience in both of the locations is nice and what you would expect: relaxed tranquil vibe, dark wooden decor, incense and thai lounge music playing in the background.
The first treatment in Tehtaankatu was probably the best foot massage I've ever had (I've had quite many). The therapist was clearly a professional and focused on what he was doing. Found all the sore spots in my feet and kept the massage strong enough. Afterwards, I felt relaxed and that I had received good value for money.
After this marvellous experience, I went with high expectations into Töölö. After being asked by the lady therapist I hoped for a strong treatment. What did I get? A light touch. At first, I thought it's only a "warm-up" but after having realized this was going to be it I felt actually quite annoyed. Why bother to ask if you have no intention to follow the customer's wishes?
The problem seems to be that the quality is not consistent and depends on who is treating you.
Tip: Book your treatment with Eric in Tehtaankatu. He is skilled and takes pride in his work!

Visited for the first time and will return I’m certain! A very tranquil building near to the fabulous Russian church and from the moment I entered I felt relaxed. My 60 minute massage was great but different to UK spas I attend. Overall would highly recommend.

I arrived at the spa expecting a spa experience but I was disappointed. This is the Tehtaankatu location. I was ushered into what looked like a dressing room and told to put my clothes in a basket, thereafter I was pointed to a chair to wait for my masseuse. So far..so good I thought.. even though Im used to a proper changing room etc. When the masseuse arrived she pointed in the direction of a bed which I was not expecting as I thought there were separate rooms.. however, I was separated from the "neighbours" by only a curtain. The massage itself was at times painful even though I had asked for medium pressure and all in all not that enjoyable. I was also interrupted by sounds from the gentleman next door who was obviously more relaxed and was making some moaning sounds and the lady next door who was having her feet rubbed and the sounds which could be heard from every other direction, for example, the road (baby crying), cell phones and also the reception area where people came and went and paid. When the massage was finally over I was given my basket and told I could change behind the curtain. I had read on the website that there was a steam room but that was nowhere to be seen - there was a bathroom , and that's about it. No place to really regroup and refresh before heading outside again. I had to look for the receptionist to pay. I called her out from behind the curtain - I finally paid and left. I was disappointed and felt that it was false advertising claiming to be a spa when it fact its a bed, and a massage . I won't be coming back , I may add sadly, as I was hoping this could be my neighbourhood spa for when I wish to rewind and relax.

Hi and thank you for your feedback! I'm so sorry to hear your experience was so unpleasant. I will go through this feedback with our customer service person. We actually have two locations, Tehtaankatu and Katajanokka, and unfortunately the steam room is located in Katajanokka spa, as it is almost three times the size of Tehtaankatu. When building our spa, we have pursued an open concept and tried to avoid any closed spaces. Tehtaankatu was started in 2015 and, as the place has grown more popular, Katajanokka was opened in 2017 in order to be able to accommodate more customers. In Katajanokka, there is the possibility to have more privacy as the spa is in two floors.
I'm so sad to hear your visit didn't go as you expected and we would love for you to give us another chance.
If you would be open to try any of our other treatments in Namina Katajanokka, we would like to offer you a free visit in our steam room before or after your treatment.

I walked in without an appointment at 5pm and was told it was possible to have a back and shoulder massage at 7pm. So I told the staff that I would be back at 7 and then I went for dinner. When I came back, I was told that another person has my time slot. The blondie at the reception who was supposed to make the appointment did not make it. She did not even apologize properly. Just said she didn't know I was coming back. Seriously? What kind of attitude is that? I did not get my massage and now after this terrible incident I feel even more exhausted then I was before coming into the shop.

Thank you for the feedback. We're so sorry about your experience at our spa. After speaking with our receptionist, I think there has been a huge misunderstanding at hand. You had apparently said you will be back later but didn't leave a name, number, or email for her. These are requirements that we must have for a booking, as, unfortunately, sometimes customer merely don't show up for the appointment. Our receptionist felt really horrible about this and wanted to apologize for the misunderstanding as well.
We truly are sorry that you didn't have a chance to relax at Namina today. If you would like to give us another chance, I will make you a good offer for a treatment of your choice. I'm visiting Helsinki for the first time and wanted to have a lovely massage. I Found namina close to my hotel. They have a lovely website, also in English what's verry Nice for me ;) you can make a Reservation online but i wanted to visit the city first and i didn't know when i would be back from my daytrip so i went there without a Reservation but i was happy to see i could still have a massage at 4 in the afternoon. The People who work here are really friendly and speak also English. I had a back and neckmassage who was really lovely and relaxing i loved the soft music . These people know how to give a proper massage!! Afterwards i got served some herbal tea and water, a realy nice way to end my day. so this was a lovely experience for me !

Such a great massage! After flying in from California and going for a long run, everything hurt. One 90 minute massage later and I felt amazing again. Highly recommend!
