This specialty museum of play, toys, and childhood can be found in Tapiola. The last time we visited in 2018, the museum was located in the WeeGee Exhibition Center next door. Now it has got its own building.

This time there was so much action going on in this museum that we didn't take our shoes off but proceeded to EMMA which was our main goal. However, we made a short visit to the small Finnish Bell and Jewelry Museum Kruunu next door in the same building.

Suomenlinna Toy Museum in Helsinki is my favorite toy museum. However, children may love this Suomen Lelumuseo Hevosenkenkä (Finnish Toy Museum Horseshoe) in Espoo more, because there are more activities for children here. In Finnish Toy Museum Horseshoe children may play. There is a slide and an airplane cabin in which children may do what they want. There is also a model railway there and children may press a button to operate trains. For me this museum was very nostalgic, because I saw many toys which were familiar in my childhood.

This toy museum is situated in the museum center WeeGee with three other museums. There is a marked route (700 meters) from the metro train (the subway) station of Tapiola to WeeGee. So this museum is easily accessible from Helsinki, too.

The Finnish Toy Museum Hevosenkenkä is a toy and game museum located at the WeeGee Exhibition Centre in Tapiola, Espoo.

The exhibition tells about the history of toys and games in Finland from the late 19th century to the present. It reminded me of many fun memories.

This is also good place for adults, as it is good for adults to make time travel to own childhood. It happens when you see those toys that you have played with. Do you still remember those games you used play with or favourite dolls.

A small but fun museum in connection with Weegee (the museum centre in Espoo that houses several museums).

The museum offers a trip down the memory lane for adults that can spot their old favourite toys: each decade has it its' own display. For kids there is lots of fun activities - and often during the weekends a crafts workshop, too.

I visited this with my family as we were spending a rainy day in EMMA area. There was a PEZ display at that time. The museum itself really was a trip back to the childhood with all the familiar toys and also a good way to show kids of today that they have it pretty good today.

The circus theme and the miniature model of the small Finnish countryside society/village were the most interesting ones. Toys are organized by decade. Goof place for adults and children to visit. This is in the same building with EMMA museum

This great small museum is located in the same building as EMMA museum and displays toys from different periods. There are regular workshops for kids and fantastic activity area, where kids can learn circus skills, not to mention small stable for stick horses!

We have had our kids's birthday party, and also been there for friend's birthday party, we never get bored! The hosts are attentive, and very good with children. Workshops are run very smoothly, and are mostly very engaging for the children. :)

This museum is well-organized and just delightful. I went for a special Pez exhibition, but I enjoyed the regular exhibit even more.

There are areas of toys (behind glass) divided by decade--i.e., Atari computer games in 1970s, etc. Each display has a fascinating description and a humorous caption.

A small display case of teddy bears--maybe 50 of them?--all sitting "auditorium style" facing a serious-looking teddy bear who is giving a lecture. A very small group are playing cards in the back and not paying attention--it's hilarious.

For a more hands-on experience for kids, there is a dress-up area and a tunnel slide shaped like an elephant's trunk.

Be sure to go to the cafe afterward!
