Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I ate here twice while in Oulu. The salmon soup is excellent and so is the pan fried salmon. On another visit I had the sauteed reindeer and I was also pleased with it. Prices are moderate for the area compared to other restaurants serving similar menus. The interior was warm and inviting and service was friendly and attentive.

Well it’s not more than a fat police statue, but probably one of the have to see things in Oulu. Of course everyone has to take a selfie here and then visit the market hall next to it.

It's just a statue of a fat Finnish policeman! However, immediately to the left of the photograph is Kauppahalli, a hall of small shops which is definitely worth a walk-around if not for just the odours and diversity therein. Fish counters at the far end are amazing, and you can even buy reindeer there. Café, Chinese restaurant (Pikku Panda) and plenty of variety, a must goto place!

The Police statue at the Market Square in Oulu is symbol of the town. Everyone wants to take a selfie with him. He is an imposing figure at the Market Hall. A must, when you visit Oulu.

This is a truly sight to behold. You can find this statue near the harbor and market. Apparently it represents a true Oulu spirit or something like that.

Beautiful part of Oulu, market square with policeman next to beautiful indoor market. We were there with a bunch of colleagues and very much enjoyed the place, had a good coffee nearby and then moved for a dinner. If you end up in Oulu then that is the part of the city to be visited for sure !

I guess you have to be born in Oulu and know the history behind this statue to be able to appreciate it´s value. It has become a symbol of the town during the years and it is quite sympathetic and special to people in Oulu. I´ve moved away from the town a long time ago, but it´s still giving me a smile every time I see it. Maybe it also says something about a sense of humour of the nordic people.

This sympathetic bronze sculpture has been standing next to the Market Hall since 1987.

It was named in honor of the bobbies that once patrolled the market place.

It is just a statue of a short fat policeman, nothing special. I don't know why this has become famous.
