Nice rapids
Aug 2020
Nice rapids and waterfalls. Kiutakängäs is series of waterfalls, the first one is the largest. It is about 800 meters( one way) from visitors center, quite easy trail, with some stairs. Nice views.

Suggestive
Aug 2019
This is a part of the Oulanka National Park, and it's quite near the main entrance. The rapids are beautiful, suggestive and safe. This is an experience to do.

Impressive falls
Aug 2019 • Friends
The water falls of Kiutaköngäs are a must visit. Facinating to watch the water run furiously between the red dolomite rocks

Super Nature!
Sep 2018 • Friends
Got to there a bit late around 3pm, a little bit cold and the sunset would come in half hours, we chose a 5km working route, it took us around 1and half hours😇we went through waterfalls, a lot of lakes, and trails. Surprised that saw many reindeers during our route, they are so cute😉 they don’t afraid of people even we said hi to them... don’t worry, we were not scare them. We enjoyed the whole trip there! There are many route are optioned, whatever you want to feel nature site, you would find it there.

Easy access to beauty
Sep 2018
It is amazing that access to national parks in Finland is free. As other national parks in this Nordic country the nature is the attraction. Not so many animals, but nature
can be really stunning in its own right.
Consider visiting Northern Finland in the autumn and enjoy the rich colours of the vegetation and the crisp air.
This particular place delivers the added beauty of mighty rapids as well.
Only one kilometre easy walk from the parking and park entrance will you reach majestic beauty! Well spent calories.

Absolutely great scenery and worth of every step
Sep 2018 • Couples
Really nice and beautiful place to see. Nice scenery and great views for the rapids.

8km hike is nice and easy to execute. If you are lucky you may see some reindeers as well if you are silent enough.

Highly recommended!

Lovely visit to the rapids
Aug 2018 • Couples
There are some lovely, easy walks in Kiutaköngäs as well as really long and more difficult ones.we took the easy one since it was really hot day. View in Kiutaköngäs rapids was really worth the walk. Routes are well taken care of and there are notes along the route so you can learn about the different things in the nature.
There is also a restaurant in the parks nature center, near the parking place. We had raindeer-burger and it was exellent.

Beautiful rapids in the middle of nowhere

Rapids in Oulanka national park. Access to Oulanka visitor centre by car or taxi, no bus service available, from thereon by foot. Definitely worth the visit.

Worth of visiting
Jul 2018 • Family
Easy to access. Around 150m from the centre. Wear still good shoes. There is stairs go to. Also little children can easily walk there. Nice day tour to go. Centre near by serve lunch and coffee. Ice cream around 2.50e and coffee 2e. Did not see the lunch menu, but think it’s tradiotinal food. Near there is a camping area
