Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited as last stop on the way to the airport, only about 5 mins from Rioviemi airport.
Considering that we had had a lovely 3 night break, this felt like it was back to reality. Very busy and quite expensive place to visit, am glad our visit to santa etc was done in the relative peace and tranquillity earlier in the trip.
Lots of souvenir shops all selling pretty much the same stuff.

Our Canterbury travel guide arranged for us to have a short shopping stop here before our flight home from Rovenimi airport. Because we had seen the REAL Santa in his home, we were advised to give the large red building on the right a very wide berth as they advertised a chance to meet a certain person!!! . But that wasn't a problem as there was lots of tourist shops in the Arctic village, they all sold pretty much the same things. But because the place we had stayed had been so remote we hadn't managed to buy any Christmas mementos . At the village there was a good choice of Xmas decor, and obviously lots of soft toys. But we also had the chance to post Xmas cards back to the UK with the Arctic circle postmark direct from the North Pole post office. I had taken cards with us ready just for this..
We only had an hour there, I would have liked a little longer, but we cut it fine for our flight home. The airport is only minutes away. It was lovely to finish off the perfect holiday here, and nothing was ridiculously priced, even for a captive audience

I did a very quick BA flight from London to Helsinki from there I took the train up to the Rovneimi from there you are in striking distance to the Artic Circle and the splendor of the frozen lakes. I recommened taking the overnight train, as you will be seeing lots of trees Lumber staging posts, and many lakes! They are fun to look at, but for the length of the journey its a lot to bear LOL ;-) On my visit English it not as common as y6ou might expect, but the locals are awesome, and so very hospitable. The Artic Mall allows to meet Santa of course and they have an awesome Post Office, so that you can have them send items to arrive for Christmas! Do nor be surprised, if folks stop for you all of the time if you are out and about walking during the winter months and snow. They simp0ly want to make sure that you are alright! Most6 flks dont walk they drive ski doo or ski!

A mall in the Arctic Circle :) The typic tourist attraction: lots of shops, with everything you can imagine! The Arctic Post Office is really nice, and you can buy nice stuff there, besides sending letters with a special stamp, that will arrive just before Christmas!

We travelled 260km down to the Arctic Circle (Santa Claus Village) from Saariselka in the north. A complete change of ambience from the wilderness to a very touristy village with lots of shops. Great shopping of lapland souvenirs here. Nice experience at Santa's Post Office.

The outsideof the houses and the complete place is nice. Inside there are standard tourist shops and mostly fast food restaurants.

Terribly touristy. Lots of overpriced shops and buss loads of tourists. Post office is really the only reason to visit and the obligatory picture straddling the arctic circle.

Cool place. They've got a nice post office where you can post your cards at any time of the year and it will arrive just before Christmas. The scenario is amazing and you can also see the Arctic Circle line going thru. Ohh, and why not meeting Santa Claus in person?

Good day!
I, my husband and daughter arrived in Rovaniemi in November 2017. There we visited the village of Santa Claus. At the Arctic Circle Tourist Information, we signed and sent cards to friends. We also saw an advertisement that we can put a stamp in our passports to remember the crossing of the Arctic Circle. Tell me, please, why are you doing this? We have serious problems now .In the Consulate General of Finland, we were informed that our passports are invalid because of these stamps. Now our holidays is disturbed because we cannot get new visas on time.
