Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is one of my favorite hiking places in Rovaniemi. It is a hill top of a fell, called Syväsenvaara, from which you can have a panoramic view over the whole city! You can go here by daytime and see the sunset (especially beautiful in winter), but also at night time to see Northern Lights (cause there is no artificial lights). There is also an observation tower, which helps viewing. It is free to attend any time. The hill top is situated right above Santa Park attraction. Do get to the top of the hill, you head up from the parking place – you will see the trail, easy to find. You might rarely bump into some locals there, who are walking their dogs :)

I went there to admire sunset and it was such a wander full experience. I found out about this place from locals and although you need to hike ~30-45 mins to get there it is so worth it. There are many paths around this forest so make sure you follow the right one. There is also a path for mounting biking so if you are into stuff like that this is a place for you.

Go top to the Syväsenvaara fell and you will enjoy the view. You will see the river and city of Rovaniem from the bird perspective.

We wanted to go for a scenic walk and noticed that this was a place with both skiing and walking trails. Wonderful views once you reach the top.

This is place I often go for BBQ, Camp Fire and viewing the lights. Yo also great a great view of Rovaniemi city. It is very close to Santa Sport and Lappi Arena. You might even see some reindeer on your there or on your way back.

Amazing and very impressive view over Finland and rovaniemi if you have a sunny day. Hidden spot but worth to walk there even if it’s cold!

Be careful of the steps as they are quite thin but otherwise the views are so pretty from the top. Lovely little hike there and you can continue on.

It's a nice easy walk with some great views at the end of it. We climbed the lookout tower and built a snowman with our daughter. It's a pleasant way to spend an hour or two walking in the woods.
