Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was wonderful to be in with the reindeer and feed them by hand, and the owner was very knowledgeable. We learnt everything about the reindeer, the farm, the area, the Saami people and their way of life. We were treated to hot drinks and biscuits in a Saami round house whilst we learnt about their culture. Loved every minute of it.

My husband and I went with a small group from Wilderness Hotel Inari to visit this reindeer farm. The owner of the farm was friendly, knowledgeable, and very witty. He shared information about Sami traditions and culture, plus facts about reindeer. We were able to feed and pet female and young reindeer, and view male reindeer that were enclosed. Later we went into a large tentlike structure (kota) and listened to fascinating information about Sami lifestyle as it has evolved. We were served hot tea and coffee and sweet cookies. Although I've mentioned it once, I will say again, the owner was delightful and knowledgeable.

We learned so much. Kind, informative, interesting Sami owners. We were a bit apprehensive. A reindeer farm? It exceeded our expectations by 1000 %.

Pleasant ride and knowledge of reindeer. We also did the feeding and it's quite fun. The reindeer are mild manner and well discipline.

A wonderful experience!. Your hosts are a traditional Sami family who want you to experience their life, meet their animals and understand their culture. I immensely enjoyed meeting them, learning about the life of a reindeer farmer, the lives of the reindeer and understanding the Sami culture so much better that the glimpse we got at the museum the previous day. As I understand it most of the year the reindeer roam free and only come "home" in the coldest months. If you want to see lots, winter is the go, but there are always many on hand. They have a craft shop which they encourage you to visit, but they aren't pushy and many of the items are unique. (I have a cool firestarter!) One of the best experiences of our trip.

We arrived to the farm without bookings and got to feed the reindeer even though they were closed due to Covid-19. The farmer was super nice and welcoming and thought us a lot about the reindeer while we got to feed and pet them. The handcrafted souvenirs were a nice plus.

This was a tour/activity offered by the Wilderness Hotel Inari. Although you don't get to do a full-fledged reindeer sledding (just a short track around property), the visit is worth it! The owers make their livelihood from reindeer farming and as a result offer a great deal of interesting and educational information about the reindeer of Finland and the Sámi Tribes/People culture. They have a lovely small shop that offers many items centering on the reindeer culture of Inari. Take the time for a visit!
