Modern museum on forestry and wood industry
Jul 2021
Nice museum at beautiful and convenient location, just next to Lusto train station. Lots of information about history of forestry and wood industry. Something for the whole family. It's quite large, so better to plan 1-2h for a visit.

Interesting but one-sided
Jun 2021 • Family
Technically a good museum with excellent displays, but sadly very one-sided. In 2021 a museum like this really should include displays and information about the effects harvesting has and has had on the diminishing biodiversity of Finnish forests. As such the museum is an example of the tendency to see nature only as a resource to be exploited. Worth a visit but take all you read with a pinch of salt.

A forestry museum, not a forest museum
Jul 2020
A very good museum but please note that it tells mainly about forest industry, not about the forest itself. Worth visiting, though, if you drive by...

Prepare a couple of hours!
Jul 2020 • Friends
If you mean to read all the information they have to offer, prepare to spend all day :) Otherwise, a couple of hours will do but not less! Lots to see and absorb.

Also, keep in mind there is a trail outside introducing different trees. For some odd reason there is no mention of that.

Tickets 12€ an adult. Free parking.

Great place with lots of information on forestry, Finland’s largest industry. Could have spent a lot longer here but we were limited on time. Highly recommend!

All about forest, wood and related..
Jun 2019 • Couples
This forest museum is very modern and really worthwhile to visit. Objects, stories are organised by themes. Much to see and learn for adults and children.
There is also a good restaurant and museum shop.

All you might have ever wanted to know about the Finnish timber industry
Jun 2019 • Couples
You need to allow 2-3 hours for this fascinating museum covering one of the major industries in Finland historically. Equipment, photos and film are all used to support static displays. The Harley Davidson drawn sledge was unexpected. A good option for that possible rainy day in this part of the world,

Forest stuff
May 2019 • Friends
Visited the Lusto forest museum with friends. There is lots of stuff about forest felling; old and modern tools and machines.
Not exactly my cup of tea but a place to visit on a rainy day.
