So it's not very cheap to take the boat going out to Vinga. And it's not very pleasant if the weather is bad. But it is a wonderful island. Located on the rim of the Gothenburg archipelago, it gives a soothing feeling of isolation and contemplation. Also there is a small museum and some nice areas for bathing.

Its summer. You´ve got plenty of time. Take the slow boat from central Gothenburg or from Hönö Klova and experience a place that time has left behind. bring along a pick-nickbasket, add some wine (don´t forget the water) and walk to the bath. There you may sit on the cliffs, bath in the clear, salty water. Standing there in knee-deep... More

Go to Vinga to see one of the most genuine Gothenburg places. This is the Island and the sea mark that have met sea farers coming to Gothenburg for hundreds of years. It was here the famous artist Evert Taube lived during his youth and got inspired by the sea and the fantastic landscape. I Think everuone can see the... More

A good friend of mine took me and my wife to this exciting island at the most western point of the Swedish/Gothenburg archipelago, over the weekend. If you really want to come to terms with nature and experience a true outdoor excurusion. Bring something to barbecue, grills are for free and available to everyone, the walk up to the lighthouse... Scenery galore. Scenic trip there. Scenic island. Bring some food, take a quick BBQ and of course you must take the walk up to the lighthouse

This trip out to Vinga was amazing, and well worth the trip if you are in Gothenburg during the summer months. The trip was free with the city card, and ended up being the highlight of the weekend. The boat was comfortable, and the scenery on route to Vinga lovely to see. When on the island, the tour guide was... More

I did an evening tour to this island. Spending a whole day here is nice with family if you want to swim also. I went for a walk and saw the lighthouse and the nature surrounding it. Also the boat to it, the views and the calmness was great!

To visit Vinga is a really wonderful excursion. There are no regular ferry boats to this small island far out in the sea and very much connected with the poet and songwriter Evert Taube who was born here.

If you want to experience the Sea and understand Gothenburg from the Sea this is a great trip. Every weather, every season shows a different side of this barren costal important light house

We took the boat - the Walona - to Vinga and had the prawn buffet. It was an excellent trip. As the only Americans on the boat (and non-Swedish speakers) we weren't sure how we'd do - but everyone was welcoming and the service was simply excellent. The prawn buffet could not have been better. Vinga is beautiful and the... More
