I have been here in April due to the need of taking a break from everyday's life stress and work. I rented an apartment for one week and went hiking every day. During spring this place is really fantastic and quiet. For the most you will meet locals and other hikers. The stores, bakeries and markets are not open yet,... More

Our Swedish friend took us to Marstrand and we were so delighted with the experience. The small quaint streets, the charming restaurants and the coastal vistas. A wonderful way to spend time in the Gothenborg area and see something special.

Most beautiful boat in Gothenburg area. There are also lots of different restaurants, shops and beautiful surroundings to enjoy. You also can have a guided walking tour arround the area. Which will be also great thing to enjoy. Try to go there on a sunny day, then you will have the most beautiful and enjoyeble time.

Beautiful. Idyllic island life. Home of homes for the rich and famous right along side homes belonging to families for generations. Views are spectacular especially from the fortress. Must visit Berg's bakery.

Instead of going the main ways tourist do (take the boat to the island and look at the fort) I strongly advise anyone who is able to walk properly to go for one of the hikes on the main land. There are several marked tracks(check map at ferry terminal), we went for the black one which is 5k and takes... More

You go down down to the little harbour at Marstrandson for the boat across to Marstrand. This is a small island mostly weekend houses, but still a lively community with big old houses on the front, many once owned - possibly still - by Gothenburg society. Early last century the king had a place there. Had tea in a little... More

This beautiful sea town is a great day excursion. it's about 30 minutes outside of Gothenburg and is only really open May-Sept for the summer months. There is a beautiful historic castle on top that you can explore and walk through. There is a small fee to get in --- but the view from the top is AMAZING. Definitely check... More

Great get away and sea fun. Marstrand island is a swedish gem, so beautiful! Enjoy a walk round the island and finish off with a nice cold swedish lager in the harbour area.
