Most of Gamla was closed so we didn't get to go round most of the shops, plus we did walk around quickly as we had to meet family later. There is little to do in Linköping, it can quickly become moribund so visiting places such as Gamla is highly suggested. You get a real sense of what Sweden looked like... More

I made the significant walk out to this location. It was a ghost town. I found one shop and one restaurant open. Some had open signs but the doors were locked. Even the visitor information building was locked. The boxes with maps were all empty until I got near the center of Gamla Linkoping. I am sure that in the... More

An interesting collection of original older buildings that have moved to an area of the city to recreate a small town. There are shops with handicrafts, tea rooms, a small theatre, exhibitions and demonstrations of industry (such as blacksmith demonstrations), a youth hostel, a working farm, and children's play areas. It is a charming set up and very educational. However,... More

Very pleasant assembly of old buildings. Great atmosphere! Like taking a trip in a time machine. Well worth a visit and a stroll. Peek into the shops and have a coffee somewhere.

was not on my list, I went to see the "Linkoping Castle" but that failed to justify my time and then I've discovered this place. I loved it, every inch of it. It was almost closing time, not many shops were open but I didn't mind that at all, it was actually better so I can enjoy the whole thing... More

I visited the place with my friend during Aug-2016. We got late and it was over 5 PM. Some things were closed but still we had really nice time looking at historical buildings and structures. It was really good to see how things were in the past.

July 2015, it's cute and pretty with lovely flowers and real residents but it's just like walking around any old set of houses and quite small.
