Impressive design

Beautiful building, gorgeous architecture, impressive library inside. It is quite impressive to be surrounded by books (instead of the usual parallel stacks).

The interior design of the building is beautiful. I would certainly recommend a visit if you have an hour or 2 to spare. The location is a little outside of the city centre, but the walk there takes you past some nice bars, shops and restaurants.

If you're expecting this library to look like one from your home town, you'll be pleasantly surprised by this very modern looking piece of architecture. Main part is a circular area with stacks around the circumference and plenty of seating. Quite unique.

Was staying close to this library, so decided to have quick visit. The place is really amazing. The round construction gives it a unique atmosphere. So, definitely go here if you are in Stockholm. No entrance fee, so that can't be the issue!

The library has more than 200.000 books. If you wanna check has a lot of english books in the collection. You can find what you are looking for and read in one of the study rooms. The librarians are so helpful and library has a little cafe&working corner also.

If you like architecture you should not miss Asplund's masterpiece. Do some research on the history of the library it's an interesting story on how it came about. Having the full view of the rotunda is quiet the experience. Free entry

When you walk into the mainhall of the library, you feel like you are in a world of books! The round shaped atrium makes you feel a tiny alice in wonderland.

Lots of books, some of which are in a circular building. Interesting photo opportunity. It's a library after all.

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
