Walk up the hill along the shops and cute areas to this strip/path on top of the hill looking over Stockholm for one of the best 180 degree gorgeous vantage points. Come on a sunny/partly cloudy day and romance will be in the air!

It takes just around 30 minutes uphill walk from the historic old town area, and the view is definitely worth the effort. See a lot of happy young couples in this area too, not surprising given the gorgeous views!

This is an area away from the main tourist area but worth seeking out. The views from here are stunning. Even on a bad day you get to see the Stockholm skyline in a wonderful panorama.

Closely located from the old town this offers a great view of the town. Especially riddarholmen and the old town. On the way to this viewingpoint you have to go through a very beautiful and cozy area on the Södermalm. I strongly recommend you to go here.

Very beautiful view of the city. Easy for younger children to climb too, and we also had a stroller with us.

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
