If you're struggling to figure out how to make your schedule work in Stockholm, I would say don't think about this at all. If you walk up the shopping avenues, visit the Royal Palace or Medieval Museum, or do the city walk tour, you'll see...More

I did not go inside, I just walked around the magnificent exterior. This is the 'old' parliament building I believe, and it was having some restoration work done to it when I was there.

It's imposing enough, but some signage informing visitors about the parliament house would have been very helpful. You can only enter the building on a guided tour (which I didn't do) which may well be worthwhile.

The Swedish House of Parliament is located on nearly half of Helgeandsholmen (island), in the Gamla Stan. Parliament House (Swedish: Riksdagshuset), is the seat of the Riksdag, the parliament. We walked by this almost every day and it was always worth a stop.

The tour was fascinating and got some interesting pictures. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It took about one and a half hours. You get to view the chambers and do a walk through of the building.

The building is on its on island en route to Gamla Stan and looks very imposing. You can’t go in unless you join a guided tour (check times in advance) so we weren’t able to go in.
