Nice little museum
You can visit the rental appartement the writer had.
A small museum gives at the hand of some keywords an overview of his life
Most information is only available in Swedish. Also the movie is only in Swedisch
Count max 1 hour for a visit.

This is a recreation of one of 24 places in Stockholm in which Strindberg lived. The exhibition is excellent, with many editions of his works, clips from films and theatre productions, model sets, personal memorabilia. One room is devoted to temporary exhibitions. The museum is on the 4th floor of a recently restored building - check out the lift and windows on the half-landings.

Great museum on the Swedish author and playwright August Strindberg. The residential building is amazing in itself with a working ornate art deco lift and stairwell.

The museum is split into two sections. One half explores Strindberg's work and life (with space for temporary exhibitions), while the other half is a restored museum of the beautiful apartment he spent the last four years of his life in. There is also his reconstructed library on the sixth floor.

Strindberg's apartment suite is small, but it is full of his original furnishings. English materials available to explain all the items. There is a fairly extensive museum portion, but most of it is not in English. There are still enough original items to see in the museum. The historic elevator you ride to get up to the apartment is fun, too! Good way to get a bit off the beaten tourist track, even if you don't know much about Strindberg.

One of the smaller museums in Stockholm is the Strindberg museum, which is located at the far end of the shopping street Drottninggatan, and it is housed in the late laureate's apartment in a building from the early 1900. The museum begins with a tour through his apartment as it was when he lived there and then continues throughout the different periods in his life and focus on different areas of his views. There is also a small cinema showing documentaries about his life. Overall a small but interesting museum for a rainy day, the museum will take about an hour to go through if you spend some time at the exhibits

The Strindberg Museum presents the story about August Strindberg in a very interesting and easy understanding way. Strindbergs biography is presented very educationally and parallel to important historical events in Sweden and in the world. And there is indeed a lot to tell. Strinberg was not only an author, but also a painter, a photographer, a play writer, a scientist, a father, a husband, a political critic, a lover, a poet, a musician and much more. A part of the museum is his last flat in Stockholm ...and he is almost there himself 😊. Don’t miss the film, which is very informative. And don’t miss the Strindberg quotes on the street on your way to the museum. Go see this place!

A very nice museum located in Strindberg's former apartment. Laminated placards in Swedish and English provide sufficient information to describe the author's belongings and provide a good overview of his life. Several exhibits in adjacent rooms enhance the visit. Easy walk (3 blocks) from the Radmansgatan metro station.

Enjoyed the visit to this museum and a glimpse into Strindberg's life and his collections and life in 20th century Sweden. Worth a visit even if you are not interested in the man himself.

To begin with it is easy to walk past the Blue Tower but it gave me the opportunity to use the swedish I have been learning to ask where it was. The lift that transported me up to the 4th floor was cute and the museum fascinating. Architecturally important (first building to have an inside flushing toilet and central heating) it gives a glimpse into the somewhat modest needs of this great mind. His writing desk surrounded by books and with his pen, paper and the famous glasses were an eek moment for me. The staff were helpful and answered any questions. A very interesting place to visit- I was captivated.

Great little museum in honour of August Strindberg, writer, artist, chemist etc. The museum house the apartment where he spent his last years, his library and a smaller exhibition covering various themes. You don't have to be a huge Strindberg fan to enjoy it, it covers both the basics of his life and details that the more serious fans will like. I highly recommend the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgable and great at presenting Strindberg's life story.
