It's not for no reason that Drottningholm is called 'mini Versailles' as it is indeed inspired by the castle in France. It's beautiful powder pink exterior and great garden alone makes it worth a visit. Add to that the calm, scenic boat trip from Rådhuset in town (about 1h) and you've got yourself a tranquil beautiful day. I have spent... More

I could not enter the castle, because it is opened 11:00 AM on weekend and I needed to go to airport soon. But the opening time is not announced in website. But around castle was also amazing enough: beautiful building, big garden around it, full of tree, blue sky, eyeful view and pure fresh air to breath. Highly suggested to... More

We went to Drottningholm Palace on bicycle with my family. Just breathing fresh air w/out the palace was a treat for us. However, once we reach Drottningholm, we were amazed at how the Swedish were able to great such a magnificent place and make it cozy at the same time. The gardens, even in the winter, are special and beautiful.... More

A fantastic beautiful castle with a wonderful park to walk in. Do not miss the China Theater. Small but very worth seeing

During our free walking tour we got to see many interesting sites/sights and hear there story's. The palace was definitely a stand out. This is one of the biggest palaces in Europe, beats Buckingham palace by one room, apparently.

Drottningholm Palace is one of the best Swedish World heritage site, I have been here about 10times. It is worthy to see the palace itself, the garden, China Palace, and Gustav III theater. Better to come on late Spring time when the flowers blooming. The only pity thing is the ticket price is quite expansive.

As the palace is inhabited, the ability to enter and view the royal apartments varies. However, even if you are not able to make it inside the place grounds are certain,ly worth a visit and you can get a sense of pageantry from the changing of the royal guard.

The palace is very accessible via public transport, so a day pass makes it very easy to get to. I thought the palace was pretty with its statues, guards, and grandiose look, but the inside is only available for tours on weekends. Keep that in mind when visiting. Otherwise, a great place to see when in Stockholm. Will most likely... More

We spent the whole afternoon at the Palace, visiting the building itself and walking around the park playing in the snow! It's beautiful!

See where the King and Queen of Sweden live. The surroundings and the building itself is stunning. Easy to get there from down town of Stockholm.
