Dating back to the 13th century, this church has a distinct character and history. It is the oldest in the Old Town and is home to several relics as well as an impressive statue of Saint George fighting the Dragon. Storkyrkan can pique almost anyone's curiosity, not just the history buff's.

Very impressive and beautiful space. The organ alone is worth seeing. Free concerts are held and I wish I could have made it back to attend.

I know its just another Church in a place with so many, but this one has a bit more history especially with the Royal weddings taking place here over the centuries. I loved the art inside, especially St Andrew Killing the dragon which seems to...More

Intriguing architecture- interior unlike any cathedral I had seen before. Worth a visit, but not a must-see.

We enjoyed spending 30 minutes viewing the art and reading about the history. Definitely worth a stop on your Stockholm tour. The Royal weddings took place here.

I enjoyed both visits to the Catholic Cathedral. The congragtion and individual worshipers came from different ethnic groups but all were respectful of this house of prayer. I felt especially welcome by the Italian community and think it was the best priced 'breakfast' following the...More

A spectacular Lutheran cathedral dating to 13th century. It is located in the Old Town (Gamla Stan), very close to the Presidential Palace. It is the oldest church in Stockholm and a definite "must see" when touring the city.

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)

The visitor centers in Uppsala and Stockholm are incredibly helpful. Check out the schedules posted throughout both cities. The train stations are a great place to find good venues. Lots of beautiful music everywhere!
