Although this is a posh area of Stockholm I appreciate it mostly for its old well preserved buildings and open boulevards. It's a nice area just to stroll around and absorb the history. And thanks to its traffic management the streets are not very busy....More
We fell in love with Ostermalm, especially the Karlagate boulevard which ties together many fine restaurants, bars, cafes and even galleries and bakeries, along with boutiques. Either the Stadion or Karlasplan subway stops will deliver you to this lovely area and its an easy ride...More

I can't even begin to afford to shop in the stores found here. I loved walking the large boulevards with parks around. Lots of dining and window shopping for me. My hotel was located in this area, so i fully enjoyed my stay in Ostermalm.
With its high-end shopping facilities and Michelin-starred restaurants, Östermalm is definitely the poshest part of central Stockholm. Here you will find Stockholm’s most majestic residential buildings, a beautiful market hall from 1888 displaying gourmet foods from around the world and the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre with its awe-inspiring architecture. At night, legendary nightclubs make the perfect
location to observe the natives (and those aspiring to become natives of this exclusive neighborhood) in their natural habitat and to enjoy the latest produce of the Swedish house music scene.
