When we came to Stockholm, I told my wife, it is a must to see the Schaeren Garden. Only way is by ship, and it is a must to come to Waxholm on this tour. Unfortunately we had not the best weather for such tour, only few sun beams passed the clouds, when the stormy winds pushed them apart. But... More

We stayed for a couple of days in Johannesdal, Varmdö, and wanted to make a ship tour through the archipelago. A very friendly employee of the ship company Waxholms Ångfartygs gave us the hint to take a scheduled boat from Stavsnäs to Rögrund (line 17), stay there for 2.5 hours and take the same boat back. We followed his advice... More

When I was in Stockholm, I took a trip with one of Waxholmsbolaget's stemships to the island of Vaxholm. The ticket system is very flexible: you can jump on-jump off all day, and in this way see several archipelago islands. There is a boat every hour. I went directly to Vaxholm though, stayed there about 2,5 hours, and went directly... More

This boat is, I think, what in a normal city would be intercity train or bus. But here in Stockholm the city and the county are all on islands, so... commuters can also use this. It offers comfortable trips, including a bar on board. The cost of the ticket is affordable. The atmosphere is familiar and easygoing. Traveling on its... More

Highly recommend a trip around the archipelago with Waxholmsbolaget. We had a choice between the Strömma archipelago cruise, which was about two hours long, or taking a Waxholmsbolaget boat to Vaxholm. We decided to go with Waxholmsbolaget because we wanted a longer trip around the archipelago and we didn't need any tour commentary. We travelled to Vaxholm and then up... More

All the year around you can get on a Waxholmsbolaget's boat that will take you to numerous islands in the Stockholm archipelago. No need to book beforehand, buy your ticket on board, sit comfortably inside or catch the sun on sun deck outside. There is always a cafeteria with food, drinks, sandwiches and coffee etc. at reasonably prices. There's toilets... More

I must say the attention and the sail was very nice. Considering there was some wind going on. Place clean. Bathrooms well functioning. Amazing views. Though... The windows of the boat were TOO dirty that photographing couldn't be possible. There is a "sun deck" or terrace. I solved there, but still. These windows should be clean.

We took the boat for a roundtrip in the Stockholm costal area. The boat transported people and goods to the many islands and islets in the archipelago outside Stockholm. The voyage lasted for 8 hours and it was an interesting and relaxing time to watch the many small harbours, people going on land and onboard, the smaller boats (speedboats) being... More

We took a bus to Vaxholm, briefly toured the town, and then took the ferry ride back. The ferry ride was the highlight. Beautiful scenery.

We took this boat to Vaxholm and it was very pleasant. We were there early, so we got good seats on the boat and it was a gorgeous day. Everyone was in a great mood and I felt like it was a very Swedish thing to do. Lots of Swedish families taking the day trip to Vaxholm and enjoying the... More
