About
I offer personal longer walks not only in Stockholm, but also - and perhaps mainly, in the beautiful surroundings; by foot and by public transport, including by boat. Most of my walks can be done all the year around. City walks, coastal walks, island walks, countryside walks, or by kayak - you choose! I know the perfect places to eat or have coffee, or we bring our own coffee/tea and lunchpacks. After visits to cities like London, Paris and New York, I have often wished that I could have had someone local to show me parts of the city, or surroundings which are not in the regular guide books - or not easy to find and access.

Magnus is a great host and it was very interesting to see the city together with a local guide. I truly enjoyed his company. It was a good mixture of tourist spots, hidden places and coffee breaks.

We had an excellent day with Magnus. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and is very informative. Takes you through many different areas of Stockholm that you would not see in a conventional tour, as well as the common ones, but gives you the real local perspective, making them even more fascinating. We did a walking tour of the city and covered a great deal of sights, making this a great experience. If you are planning on visiting Stockholm, get in touch with Magnus so he can give you the best lay of the land experience, you will get so much more than just a simple city tour.

Me and my son enjoyed a great half day's walking with Magnus off the beaten track in a leafy suburb of Stockholm. He obviously knew the locality very well and provided us with a very informative and interesting tour. His engaging personality and excellent English allowed us to talk about a range of other subjects as well. We came back feeling that we had learned a lot about Stockholm and Sweden and the way of life there. What was also nice was that Magnus was also interested to know about England. We walked a number of miles on the tour but we only realised the distance we had walked the next day because of how engaged we had been on the walk! We were so impressed with Magnus we told him to call in and see us if he visited England in the future! Thanks again for everything Magnus.

My colleagues & I enjoyed a most pleasant & informative tour of Stockholm city taking in the main highlights but also going off the beaten track to experience the 'real' Stockholm. I would thoroughly recommend Magnus to anyone visiting Stockholm not only for his excellent knowledge & passion for his own city but also for his pleasant demeanour & general all round friendliness. Thank you Magnus & I look forward to visiting Stockholm again and taking in even more sights & experiences.

My husband and I and 4 young women spent a beautiful day with Magnus H, from ShowMeStockholm. We wanted to get out of the city and see the islands in the Baltic Sea. Magnus, our tour guide made all arrangements by bus and ferry boat to Sandhamn Island. We enjoyed the beauty of getting to the island. There are no cars on the island and the colorful homes in the Marina area were fun to see. We walked along pathways and trails which took us to pretty beaches and summer homes. The Pine trees and flowering underbrush were a welcome sight after so much concrete in the city. We would highly recommend this tour with Magnus.

This was a highlight of our time in Stockholm. Magnus was one of the nicest Swedes we met, and we learnt a lot from him about Sweden. We went for a boat trip with him which was a fun experience in itself (sailing around the archipelago) and a beautiful way to see a part of Sweden that we never would have experienced otherwise.

We met with Magnus in early July for a walk through Stockholm. The route he suggested is not typical for first time visitors to the city. Except for the City Hall, which is a beautiful building, there were no ‘highlights’ or ‘must sees’. However, what we did get was a good idea about living in the city, particularly regarding housing, education and recreation.
Our correspondence with Magnus prior to meeting was clear, prompt and pleasant. He was willing to tailor the walk to suit our interests. He had tickets available for us to easily hop on and off busses and the metro when needed.
He first took us to his favourite neighbourhood coffee shop, Petit France and we ended our tour with a delicious lunch in a quiet place away from the tourist crowds – Bagdad Café at The Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities. (You guessed - this is somewhat of a foodie writing!)
I think that if you are already familiar with the highlights of the city or prefer to see a city through a local’s eyes, then a walk with Magnus is a great option. He’s a really nice man, easy to engage with, he was interested in us and interested in sharing his knowledge and insights. He clearly loves showing what he considers to be the hidden gems of his city at a really reasonable price.
Unfortunately we did not complete the entire walk he’d prepared as we were pressed for time and also wanted to spend some time in Gamla Stan, The Old Town.
We ended the day feeling that we’d really like to return to Stockholm. Thanks Magnus.

We loved our tour with Magnus. It was a unique experience walking the city streets and off the beaten path with a local. He's very personable and easy to talk to and is happy to answer questions. It was a long walk so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and maybe take a bottle of water. But the views and the experience were great!

Magnus is a natural guide, and has a passion for his city and surrounding areas. Many of the locations would be difficult to find without local knowledge, especially on the Islands. A great day out, Magnus has tailored his trips with great imagination. Excellent value!

Hi Andrea! Thanks for asking - and under normal circumstances I would have loved to show you around. But I was in an accident on Thursday - and are now at hospital... for some more days unfortunately.
But if you go to my website ShowMeStockholm there are a number of suggested trips/walks, together with maps, that you should be able to follow.
Please enjoy your stay in Stockholm!
Kind regards / Magnus

Could I please contact you regarding our stay in Stockholm? We would like a guided tour of the city but I am sure that there are more things that we would be able to do with you. Is this the platform to plan everything or could you contact me?
