The museum offers an insight into life back in the days and is a perfect activity for those that are interested in history. The main exhibit is about Regalskeppet Kronan that perished due to bad choices of the Captain. They also hace contemporary exhibits and...More

We visited attracted by the Konan exhibit. On the third floor of 4, this was well done and created a sense of the personal stories of those on-board from the artefacts recovered from the wreck site so far. Explanations in English just enough to retain...More

Not so much a county museum as a museum about the 17th-century warship Kronan. 4 floors of exhibitions where the top floor is mainly a restaurant, the 1st floor - the entrance and shop, the 2nd-floor playground and temporary exhibitions and then the absolute highlight...More

If you haven't been here before then maybe go. You can see remanings from the vessel " Kronan". The exhibitions feels a bit out of date. Not sure if they would be interesting enough for young kids and not appealing for grown ups either really

Most of the exhibition is about an old war ship (Regalskeppet Kronan) which sank 1th of June 1676. There are plenty of artefacts around, and you will get to know the whole story quite well without being exhausted. All ages will gain from a visit...More

Look back on naval life as it was 430 years ago, see the difference between officers and deck hands. And look back 100 years to see how our "Jultomte" or "Weihnachtsmann" was created by the skilled hand of Jenny Nyström. And the last excavations in...More

This museum focuses on artifacts recovered from the wreck of the warship Kronan (1676). The museum displays artifacts from other aspects of Kalmar's history, but Kronan is the focus for sure. The museum is laid out well, and has displays in Swedish and English, and...More
