Malmöhus Castle is Scandinavia´s oldest surviving Renaissance castle. Here Denmark´s coins were minted in the Middle Ages and here Crown Prince Frederick held wild parties in the 16th century. Prisoners were beheaded in the courtyard in the 19th century. Today Malmöhus forms part of Malmö Museer. Had a whistle stop visit to Malmo so thought I would take in the sights. This is listed as one of the top 10 attractions in Malmo according to one website I visited. It's a fine building. It's not far to walk to it from the city centre, but much beyond what looks like the original round structures on either... More

Went for about 4 hours and visited most of the sights. While the stuffed animals weren't quite up to my tastes, the aquarium, Malmo's work towards a better environment and the history parts were very interesting and thought provoking. The women on reception were very helpful and while it is a bit hidden, it has great views both of other... More

I went to this museum with my 4-years old son, so first worries were - will it be enough interesting also for him? Situation was corrected with museum part where were nature and animals and of course aquarium. Aquarium was the best part - it is quite big and with different animals in there. It was quite good. Rest of... More

Went to Malmo for the day. Road the boat/canal tour - that was great. Had time for one museum and sadly chose this. There's a stuffed giraffe in the lobby? No reason. Oddest art collection - only computer voted on works shown (about 30 at a time from their vast collection). When I was there - they had a whole... More

Arrived in Malmo early in the morning, this wasn't open yet but we walked all around; the garden behind it and the windmill. Very interesting place. Wish I had more time. Had to catch my train!

Plan for repeat visits as it cannot be absorbed in one. Living history and natural world experience with a good café.

Inexpensive cool museum. Price ticket is 40 SEK if you are more than 18. Free under that. Value for this price is awesome. The new renovated aquarium and vivarium is reallly cool

Malmo Museer is a probably fantastic for children but as an adult I also enjoyed it. The museum has an excellent collection from different periods and nice temporary exhibitions. There is also an aquarium with exotic species and a small space with artificial tropical climate.

The hidden treasure is the old fashioned automat, now a café, located inside the walls next to the museum. A piece of Swedish culinary history itself as well as a really relaxing terrace to sit and enjoy a beer, coffees or pastries.
