A quick visit

We only had a brief look I think it would be worth spending more time there! IT looked like you could take and hour or so to wonder around. No decent souvenirs here.

Calling this a Museum is an extreme exaggeration. there is a lmost nothing there and the exhibition of the past is formed by things that while resemble how they use to do it, are completely new

Simple and small museum, but worth to see if you are in town, since it's free! Some temporary exhibitions and a permanent room depicting the life in Norrbotten in the past!

When we were there there was no real Sami exhibit. There was one small contemporary Sami art exhibit which was average. The cafe looked nice. Upstairs exhibits were nothing tow rite home about.

Didn't see much when I went here. Good thing it's free admission otherwise it's not worth it. I actually took more pictures of the building from the outside that of the exhibits.

The museum has quite restrictive opening hours and is quite small but you can find some nice things in here. When I came, there was an exhibit on the swedish-russian war of 1812 and its repercussion for the region. There was also some stuff on the Tornedalian people (very soft focused indeed) and a room with traditional costumes. Give it... More

It is true that there is not extremely much to see about history itself, but it is pretty interesting place and the entrence is for free! You have three plans, one shows beautiful photos from Kiruna, second is a little bit about history of Norrbotten and the third one is about people who live in Lappland. What is awesome at... More

The Museum is supposed to cover the history of Northern Sweden. However inside the impressive building in the town-park you will only find 3 rooms of exhibitions. There is no general overview of the regions history. The indigeneous people of the North - the Same - is presented as reendeer farmers, only focusing on the farming history. Not a single... More
