Come along to the world’s largest underground iron-ore mine. We go by bus directly from the Tourist Center into the mountain and down to the show mine LKAB’s Visitor Centre at level 540 metres. Here in Kiruna much revolves around our mine. The guide will talk about modern mining and how it can cause a whole town to be moved. Coffee and cookies will be served in the cafe. A warm welcome!

The tour was well organised and explained. We went underground but not to a working part of the mine. There was equipment to see and the mining process was well explained. The tour is most suited to people with an interest in geology, engineering etc.

By bus to LKAB and the mine. Going down for 15 minutes to the production level. Visual presentation of the mine and why the city Kiruna has to move.

We tried to go on this tour, but were told by the Tourist office that it was fully booked for that day and the next tour in Saturday. If it is this popular why don't they run more regular tours than three per week? Disappointed.More

The tour bus starts a slow descend to 1,770 feet (540 m) into darkness like an amusement park ride. It’s not for claustrophobic people since the entire tour is underground but fresh air is pumped into the shafts and there’s good artificial lighting. It’s amazing...More
