We visited the main square where there are lots of restaurants and it is dominated by these magnificent ruins. One looks at them and thinks this must have been a grand place in it’s day and wonders why it was left to decline all those...More

They were the ones who could write and read and helped people learn. They went barefoot around town in the 13 th century. Just ruins now but an interesting history.

The largest of all the church runs in Visby. Just walk by the City Wall, look, and you will see the towering ruins. We were amazed. Must have been very grand and adored in its heydays. We appreciated the architecture.

I love old ancient buildings. St Karin's is one such an amazing ruin of a cathedral. There is a small square beside it where an open market opens everyday. There are lots of cafes and restaurants there as well. Don't miss this

St. Catherine's Cathedral was an absolutely gorgeous stop on our visit in Visby. It was one of the first places we went, and the atmosphere is breathtaking. It feels magical, with the plants growing over the palpable history. Really worth taking a few minutes to...More
