About
We run tours to the Sliabh Liag Cliffs, the highest sea cliffs in Europe standing 600m (1972 feet ). We operate from April to October, and sometimes earlier or later if weather is ok. With our 2 boats we can carry 24 passengers. The tour lasts about one and a half hours, and we take in many wonderful sights.Sometimes we are joined by wild life, like dolphins, whales, seals, and in May and June we often see basking sharks feeding on the plankton.Guests can go for a swim in the clear waters near Sliabh Liag we can supply wetsuits if you think the water is cold most don't need them. Some people are lucky enough to be joined by dolphins. Sailing Times 10am 12noon 2pm 4pm 6pm and 8 am/pm if needed. Although I don't answer all reviews I appreciate the feedback . I only answer reviews that I feel do not reflect the tour and will try to correct anything negative that crops up. We are a small operation and I run it to the best of my ability. So don't be upset if I don't reply. Thank you Paddy

Wow! Just Wow! When we arrived another trip was just coming in. As soon as they got of the boats both boats were sterilised before the next gang got on board. The weather was just fabulous and the sea was relatively calm (so I thought anyway!) We were treated to THE most spectular views of the Slieve Liag Mountains. Kevin stopped a few times along the way to give us a history lesson which was very interesting to hear. He was very knowledgeable and a great bit of craic. If you want to go for a dip you are welcome to (although the Atlantic in September? BRrrrrrr). The whole tour lasted for around 1hr 45 minutes and for €25 per person that is phenomanel value for money and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I have always known that Donegal is stunning but it really is a very special county. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked to go back in November - all going well!!

Unreal trip and a true living legend in Paddy Byrne the skipper of the boat too. We had originally planned to go on this trip earlier in the summer when weather was poor. The seas were rough and Paddy gave everyone the choice to go out of the bay at least and we all were chomping at the bit. Even though we were out more than an hour and had availed of Paddys knowledge and fantastic story telling, he insisted in not taking a penny off anyone as we hadn’t had the full experience.
We took our son who is wheelchair bound back the second time which was this weekend and WOW what a trip. The views, the stories, the people and the relaxed vibe had us all talking to each other and finding out each other’s stories also. This is a must for anyone coming anywhere near the area and I would even say to make it your business to come just for the boat trip. We are still buzzing and our wee man was made feel on top of the world by everyone on the boat especially Paddy the captain and the crew.

This was a fabulous trip. Easy to book on line and great value for the personalised, friendly guide. Paddy welcomed us and Kevin took us out in his boat. He was highly entertaining, had lots of local knowledge and his great love and respect of the sea was clearly evident. A truly wonderful experience

This by far was one of the best things we experienced in our 2 weeks in Ireland. Paddy was so great in telling details of the landscape and history. We had a misty morning and he was so accommodating telling us that if it came down more we could fit in the boathouse to be more comfortable. Two hours went WAY too fast but we cannot wait to come back next trip! Thanks Paddy! Loved our trip with you!

7 of us, a mixture of adults and children went on this boat trip of a lovely summer's evening. Everyone who is in the area should do this trip at least once - this was our third time out beneath the cliffs and we look forward to a few more. The guy at the helm Kevin was full of local knowledge and he didn't mind sharing it and he was good craic to boot. Well done everyone, wish you a good end of the season

I can honesty say this is the best boat tour we have ever been on anywhere in the world! We booked the 18.00 fishing trip out of the harbour the boat is really well set up and comfortable. Our skipper Kevin made the trip he was such good fun and attentive and provided all the gear we needed to fish. This was especially great as it meant we didn't have to haul all our own gear with us. The rods and rigs were good quality and Kevin was immediately on hand to replace any lost lines or broken jigs as anyone who fishes will know this is a great help. We caught mackerel, pollock and wrasse and the scenery was just stunning. On the way home we had the most incredible encounter with a pod of dolphins that swam right next to the boat it had long been on my bucket list to see them so this just finished the trip off. I honestly can not recommend this boat company enough and they are incredible value for the service they provide. Thank you to Kevin for making the trip so amazing.

We had an absolute ball with Paddy on our boat tour of the Sliabh Leagues. Having been let down by another boat company for a sailing (they decided to end the season early) they suggested to us that we tried Paddy's boat tours. We initially booked for a Thursday but Paddy emailed us on the Monday to say that he wouldn't be sailing Thursday duw to bad weather but as we were flexible we asked to be moved to the Wednesday. Paddy was very helpful and efficient in accommodating this for us. The views of the Cliffs were beautiful and Paddy's explanation of the landscape and historical facts were really interesting and made the tour very personal. There was a great vibe on the boat with the other passengers too. Some of them were able to for a swim also which was great. We were out on the boat for just about 2 hours and had a fabulous time. I would absolute recommend to family & friends.

Absolutely gorgeous.
Paddy is a great captain and a very good storyteller. The boat is absolutely clean and I felt very safe. Boat trips are almost two hours filled with adventures stunning views and touching moments and the price that is charged is nothing for what you get.

We went on the boat trip yesterday (2 adults 3 kids) and had a fantastic time. Very covid compliant with hand sanitizers on the pier and boats. We also saw the staff sanitize the boats and life jackets after the previous tour. Paddy was very informative and a great storyteller which we all enjoyed listening too. The views were something else and really breath taking. We even went for a swim and the water was absolutely glorious. An adult must swim with the kids and if you have your own buoyancy jackets for kids to swim in, bring them as understandably you can’t use the life jackets on the boat as they get soaked . Well worth the money and highly recommend it to anyone.

Paddy (Captain) took me on as a walk on in the morning. He was great! Casual, affable, great story teller of folk lore, history, and yarns as we cruised to the clifts. He would tell us in advance about and upcoming waves to make sure and ease any concerns. You could tell he really loved what he did. Clifts were impressive and set the tone for the top of clifts climb I was to do after this. Highly recommend!

We will be in Donegal the 8th of October. Just wondering if you do many rides that time of the year? Will check with you when we get to Ireland, a few days before we arrive. Hoping we will have smooth waters and will be able to take your tour. Valerie

The boat tours are operating from April to October. It’s also dependent on weather conditions at any time of the year.

My husband is prone to seasickness. Do these tours take place on the open sea, or in protected harbors? How rough is it?
Written 8 August 2018
Definitely open sea, along the coastal edge of cliffs., not far of the shore and Paddy the cpt won’t go if it’s rough. Life jackets offered to everyone also.

Hi
Do I have to book in advance for 4 to 5 people or just turn up? What times do the boat trips run from?
Thanks
Terry
