The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

    Expensive
This was a lot smaller and a lot more expensive that I had thought it would be. The exhibits are interesting but not as big as imagined and extremely dark inside so it is easy to bump into people. The film was in Danish but you can get a headset from the desk which you pay a deposit of 50kr for and you get this back once you return it. This headset means you can watch the film in other languages including English. There were 2 school groups there when I was there. A older group of teenagers who were just sat around on their phones taking up all the seating sound the exhibits and also a school group of young kids who were screaming and shouting and running havoc around the whole planetarium. So maybe visit at a weekend instead and school groups might not be a problem.

    A nice experience
We went with the grandsons today. It was a good experience. When you get tickets, you can reserve a space for a movie. We picked the Space Junk film as it was coming up soon. The IMAX theater is as expected, bug with images extending straight up. The first part of the video was a general planet and star orientation, and then the Space Junk feature came on. The kids liked it all, and also the exhibits we went through afterwards. It is, as expected, a completely materialistic view of how we got here, but at least the exhibits used phrases like 'we think' and 'scientists think,' so it was accurate.

    Better than I expected
After reading the reviews I was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised, the film as least was interesting and good. It lasted about 45 mins and with English commentary on headphones I thought it was good. Apart from the film the Planetarium is quite small with some visuals and information points. I would recommend If you have the Copenhagen card. Otherwise it’s in the region of £21 which I think is excessive.

    Waste of money and time
This is not the place to go for adults. It is purely kids-themed, all the movies are for children and they're short. The tickets are extremely expensive for the small exhibition they have. Our visit was barely 20 minutes long. The exhibition contained basic stuff that didn't blow anybody's mind. Definitely not a place to go as a pair, nor to learn stuff. Probably only a place to go if you have ADHD kids that need to burn some steam so you can live in peace for the rest of the day.

The film about the Solar System was very good, our kids aged 10 and 8 really enjoyed it too, but other than the show there is very little in the Planetarium.

It’s worth popping in to watch a show if you have the Copenhagen card, but otherwise I’d spend your money elsewhere.

Very little exhibits you can find in here. See & learn more on the screen exhibitions upstairs. One last thing, I like their shop and digital clock, too!

My 8-year-old and I had a great time visiting on a Saturday afternoon. The exhibit hall is small but had an awesome area with nebulae and supernova. If you spend some time in that section, as we did, you will get a big (fun) surprise. The current “Saturn’s Rings” exhibit was quite beautiful. My son loved the balloon rocket craft. The young woman who was working that day was kind, friendly, and patient. We went back for the Touch the Stars film. Nice staff at the front desk, too. Great popcorn!

Exhibits to small and the film was probably 15fps meaning a very blurry film when motion, the room was stuffy with no air.

This place felt like a rip-off. Almost totally uninteresting. A pity too because they could probably make it worth a visit. Don’t bother with this place, plenty of interesting sites in Copenhagen.
