For hundreds of years the Danes were an unstoppable force of warriors,...

For hundreds of years the Danes were an unstoppable force of warriors, explorers and settlers – uniting Scandinavia, discovering America and bringing terror to the shores of Europe. Today Copenhagen’s history of fire and bloody battles lies hidden behind picturesque streets and colorful harbors. As the days of conquest passed, Danish power was replaced with a rich cultural legacy of writers, artists and philosophers. The fairytale feel of the city where Hans Christian Andersen wrote is the home of incredible stories and unbelievably true histories: Viking adventurers; pirate-hunting Bishop Absalon; daring Danish WWII resistance fighters and more. Our local expert guides will take you on a 3 hour walking tour through 6000 years of Copenhagen’s history and you’ll find out why the Danes are some of the happiest people in the world!

We did the tour with Martin and it was a great experience. He knows so much about the city and Denmark and mixed with funny and passionate tales and real experiences we were really satisfied with the tour. Thank you Martin!

Sara was our tour guide and when I first saw her I completely misjudged her, since she was small and appeared quiet. However, we had a most enjoyable few hours with her. She was knowledgable - essential when giving a tour, but also very entertaining. I would highly recommend this as a starting point for any holiday to Copenhagan. In... More

I have taken SANDEMANs walking tours all over Europe, and I will say they never disappoint. The guides can obviously make or break the experience, but they do a great job of hiring charismatic people that know so much about the city!

Excellent tour. Martin was an amazing guide. Found it very interesting. Personally, I always find history interesting but there was plenty more than just facts on the tour. Martin kept it fresh with good humour. Definitely recommend!

Søren took us through the city, giving us animated explanations of each part that he went past and encouraging us to ask questions. He also told us a little about his own background in relation to the city, making for a friendly and engaging tour overall.

Attending the tour with Sandemann's let me get a better insight into the culture of Denmark. I spent two freezing days with a Feliks - his Free Tour, Food Tour and Alternative Tour. It was worth every minute. Our guide had a true passion for explaining customs, national features and history. He had a very good voice and patience to... More
