Ceramics Museum Grimmerhus is situated in the beautiful old dower called Grimmerhus on the edge of Kongebro forest in Middelfart, which for many years had served as a guest house. Royal Scandinavia decide in 2010 that the entire museum part to be transferred to the museum in Middelfart. It will be the beginning of an extensive renovation and extension of... More

18 of us from the Celebrity Silhouette took a 2 taxis to Middelfart to visit the Clay museum. As we approached we were disappointed with our first impression, but looks can be deceiving. The museum was much larger than it looked and stored a wonderful collection of local artists and of course that from Royal Copenhagen. The guide had a... More

We visit the museum for the first time last year, great surprise. So we had to come again and this time it was just as great. A new exhibition by Fulby, a married couple that makes ceramics. What a great exhibition, lots of beautiful pieces and a video explaining the couples technics.

This is a lovely moderately sized museum dedicated to modern and recent historic functional and sculptural ceramics. The museum has an excellent collection of Royal Copenhagen ceramics through the years, but it also has lots of examples of modern art ceramics. The museum has a small cafe and a gift shop.

With it's recently open extension to it's gallery this is truly Denmark's premier ceramic arts museum. An excellent historical exhibition of both commercial and art pieces plus a contemporary gallery of more recent pieces. Much of Danish modern ceramics use the "pot" as a canvas for decoration. Certainly the present exhibit has a fabulous collection of these works. Lunch is... More

You probably know Louisiana. You may know Trapholt (if not, you should!). This is one more art museum with a fantastic view over the water - in this case northern Lillebælt. It is also one more museum consisting of a mixture of old and new architecture. This is an old villa with a 1,500 m2 new structure with fantastic light... More
