We had only a day for both the driving there and hiking around, and weren't sure if there are relevant trails during the season. some of our tips and experiences: 1. We stopped at the "Olympus national park information center" near Litochoro. They reassured us and suggested trails to go, it was great. 2.We drove to Gortsia, and hike toward... More

We had only half day in Mount Olympus and we did max of it. We took trail E4 and started from Myloi around 1pm. All distance to Prionia took us about 5hours like it is said in the poster in the beginning of the trail next to Myloi. With few stopps for pictures and small snacks we arrived to Prionia... More

Hello, a chum and I climbed mount Olympus at the end of March 2017. I wanted to write a review as I had read a lot of mis-information for the winter condition ascents and wanted to shared what I experienced and discovered. All in all it was a very manageable ascent. The scenery was amazing and it was glorious to... More

Really: don't read this review if you are a not an alpinist or not into sports or if you're unsure if you are experienced enough. You'll most certainly get into trouble! Hiking up Mt. Olympus is easiest from Patra - a parking spot at 1100Hm about 16km from Litochoro. From there a perfect trek leads up to the top. Only... More

Two middle aged parents with two teen-age kids attempted the climb on October 7. Since refuge A was full, we decided to take the Gortsia - Petrostruga - Plateau of Muses trail. We were aware of bad weather coming in the afternoon and started early, before 8am. The climb was not easy at all! It took us 3.5 hours to... More

I climbed Mount Olympus last week on a Greek holiday. There are a few options; depending on how much time you have and also how much exposure and steep scrambling you're prepared for. You can hike up from the nearest town, Litochoro via the Enipeas Gorge which is lovely but will take a full day to get up to Refuge... More

I am writing this review in hope that it might help someone who isn't yet shure about doing the hike up to the top, especially as a solo hiker. Firstly I want to state that it is a bit hard to find information about buses from other parts of Greece to the base town Litochoro. I found that the best... More

So its not easy to find info on hiking Mt Olympus before you leave. The best website to review is Spilios Agapitos which has info on the different trails. Its advised to complete a trek in 2 or 3 days but I completed this in one day. This isnt a boast but rather if you are on our own and... More

We spent a week in the Mount Olympus area with Olympostrek who organised a series of activities for us on and around Mount Olympus. They were designed for mixed ages (children 8 to 16, and 2 not very fit adults) and included hiking through the unspoilt forests and streams, rappelling down waterfalls, sea kayaking, rafting, and rock climbing. They also... More
