I took a group here and Manos spoke to us about the museum and some Skyrian history, he made it all interesting and answered questions knowledgeably, I stayed enthralled and engaged and really enjoyed my trip to the museum, would definitely recommend a trip here, but call first to ensure it is open, the gift shop is very reasonably priced... A great place to visit and immerse yourself in Skyros culture. Be careful of the opening times. Don't forget to ask to see the Greek theatre.

I really liked my visit to this museum. Fabulous Views. Very good in terms of familiarising yourself with the history of the island. There is a real sense of history about this house tool. Magnificent views.

The museum is a family's private collection of important historical artefacts, documents and the very important local folk art that is still going strong to this day. Housed in the family's home and lovingly displayed local pottery, needlework and woodwork that the island is famous for, plus a rather strange and eclectic art made and collected by the most recent... We visited the Faltaits museum, which used to be the family home. The artist's wife still is a docent there. We were unfamiliar with his work, but found the collection of antiques and artwork there very interesting. It was also interesting to see the layout of the traditional house.

Absolutely packed with items of great historical and folklore importance. An old manor, which has been renovated to house all these articles, and which is situated in a place with an amazing view. Worth visiting, and it is funded by the petty 2euro entrance fee and the sales from their little souvenir shop.
