Hi,we are an adult family of 5 but likely to have a couple of extras come along. We are from Auckland New Zealand and have owned a yacht and have quite a bit of sailing and boating experience. Two of us have "Boatmasters Certificates". We are planning a family sailing holiday and fancy a bit of going ashore for a meal, but also happy to anchor in a bay. One of the group suffers from a bit of seasickness from time to time and some like a bit of a decent sailing. What area would you recommend to sail in? We'd like a 4 cabin boat. We are thinking Sept but are flexible, keen to keep costs down a bit as mum and dad are paying ;-) Are there marinas that one would need to pay for a night berth. Can one just anchor in a bay and row ashore for a meal. Do we need to show proof of sailing ability for a bareboat charter? Thanks for your advice.

Hi, we have never taken a sailing holiday, so nothing about this type of holiday. we have no experience but are looking to go around the greek island, like Sanorini/ etc and ending in Mykonos. probably sailing for a week. with crew and cook. Is this something you do? what type of boats do you have. we are quite fussy! Where can we find all of this out? lisa horwood

This seems a simple question but it’s complex answer. The quick answer would be this isn’t practicable, but the longer answer is that this would probably not turn out as you imagine and you might find it’s not what you’d... More
