This museum is only a few years in existence. It displays objects from the Patras area and focuses on very ancient times as well as Roman times as there was a dark period between them of about a millenium when the site was under occupied. The Roman era mosaics are very well preserved and displayed and the ancient exhibits are... More

Great museum that really gives a good impression of the archaeological history of the town. Modern in conception the museum gives a good impression of life throughout the centuries in Patras. Well worth a visit.

This is one of the best museums that I have seen. It uses the modern techniques of display to showcase the archaeological finds of Patra. Indeed the displays are very interesting and informative. I enjoyed being here.

This is a really good place to look at statues, pottery, tools and huge mosaics taken from houses in Patras over recent years. Very well laid out, easy to read in English and Greek, great value at Euro 6. If you're interested in history, you should give it a go. Pretty quiet, open 8 am - 8 pm, no bus... More

The spacious new museum divides the finds into themes rather than chronology and doesn't overwhelm with overcrowded displays. There are some spectacularly well preserved pots and mosaics. Best for the Roman period. As we hate taking Greek taxis we took the No. 6 bus, which dropped us off around the corner from the museum but it was easily visible and... More

This museum has some reconstructed houses, a reconstructed private bath, and several excellent mosaics. They also have a second floor that is just for viewing the houses and mosaics from above.

Found the museum to be well organized and interesting for visitors for the first time. Located a couple of miles from our hotel, so was very accessible. Modern and interesting.

Massive, spanking new archeological museum on the outskirts of Patra city on the Peloponnesus. Sparse, but valuable collection from the area. Three well organized and well appointed room. Very good and friendly staff. Not really worth a visit in my opinion. I'd rather have had lunch by the sea.
