I knew nothing about this museum - was just filling in a rainy afternoon but it was outstanding. It's not particularly big but so much history and the exhibits are amazing. There are English descriptions to pretty much every exhibit which I found very helpful. And the cafe was great - looks great and had good food.

We were with a group touring this fabulous museum and so were on a schedule. So plan on going on your own if you can and take the time to really explore all the wonderful artifacts. We really loved it.

I saw aspects of the history of Greece and Byzantium that I had never heard of before the visit and was very glad to have been there. Maybe it is because we went when it was before the tourist season, I don't know. I did not like the lay out, and the "babysitters" of each section made me feel uncomfortable and followed me everywhere I went.

Fascinating introduction to Byzantine culture and history and not just a collection of icons, despite what some guidebooks say. Building itself is a really successful modern museum and signs are excellent for English speakers. This is a real window into one of the world's great and little known civilisations.

Another well laid out museum, pretty new and lots to see, full of information. This museum has long opening hours unlike the Archaeological Museum.
