About
Surrounded by tall marble cliffs and looking out onto the azure waters of the Myrtos Gulf, this stunning beach makes for a dramatically breathtaking sight. A steep and winding stretch of road will take you there—stop on your way to admire the view and catch the pink and orange hues at sunset on your way back. Get in early to secure both a place to park and a prime spot on the sand; the water tends to be at its calmest in the morning too. There are changing rooms and toilet facilities, a beach bar, and a few sunbeds and umbrellas you can rent. – Tripadvisor

If you arrive in the morning around 9am you have all umbrellas free and you can choose the place. The morning is all shade but around 10 the sun comes and the water turns a beautiful blue color. Too bad that today there were waves and so we could not fully enjoy the sea.
Parking just behind the beach.

Well what about, the photos speak for themselves is a fantastic place with a beautiful sea even if a little rough, bring your shoes from stones and an umbrella and two sunbeds cost 15 €. There is a bar that makes sandwiches, toilets and even disabled toilets. Beware of parking, after 10:30/11 it is overflowing

Wonderful sea. Amazing view from above. You have to go when it has no waves, to let you swim in its waters of all shades of blue. The sooner the better for a parking spot. There is an organized section with sunbeds, canteens, dressing rooms and showers and free space for nature lovers.

Read in TA's Travellers’ Choice Awards 'Best of the Best Beaches' that "It rarely gets crowded". RUBBISH! If you want to go in the summer season you do indeed need to go very early if you need a parking space (& watch the road down, too many hire cars totally unused to narrow Greek roads.....) or to get your spot on the beach - then wait while it gets very, very busy.
The other thing to note - & this is of VITAL importance if you have children or unless you are VERY strong swimmers, the waves are extremely strong & the undertow is nasty. There have been serious accidents at this beach (talk to locals, not tour operators).
Yes, it's very beautiful; so is a tiger or some snakes but I wouldn't play with them. Look & admire from the top of the cliff road at the viewpoint, take your pictures - then go swim somewhere else.

Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches. The view coming from above and the color from the water are unbelievable. We rented an umbrella (15 euros with 2 sunbeds). Just arrive, find a free umbrella and they will come to you to charge you. The beach has free showers and a bar. We took a day of rough seas (fun but dangerous). We stayed until evening to watch the sunset.
NB: do not be frightened by reviews that say that the street is horrendous and that there is no parking: surely arriving early you will find the best parking lots. But the road moderating speed is absolutely feasible

Visited Myrtos Beach in September @ 3pm in the afternoon.
No problem parking & beach was not overcrowded. Didn’t bother with sun loungers as spent time in the sea
I was a little bit concerned about the road to the beach & the waves after reading some previous reviews on here.
I didn’t think the road was dangerous & the waves when I visited certainly weren’t dangerous either. Although I would agree it’s not ideal for little children as it gets deep quickly.
As always in life - it’s good to do your research beforehand but don’t let that put you off experiencing something firsthand for yourself.
I agree with its rating as one of the best beaches in the world - and the drive to the beach is absolutely breathtaking.

Not surprisingly considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, a must-see in Kefalonia. Recommendation to arrive early to enjoy it in peace, find free umbrellas (if you are interested - 15 euros umbrella and two sunbeds) and find convenient parking, after arriving is a delirium. There is a bar that sells snacks and also makes reasonably priced sandwiches. Sea with really beautiful colors but not really suitable for children because immediately deep.

Forget the snorkel mask, its turquoise color is due to a whitish color (limestone) and the visibility is complicated. Pretty cave. Showers, toilet block. Snack is expensive. Small round pebbles. It was very hot, no wind, the fact that it is collected must play according to the direction of the wind... Huge parking at the very bottom, places available until around 10am/10.30am the day we went there (mid August).

Absolutely amazing beach, the colour of the water is stunning all day long. 2 sun-beds with an umbrella for €15 for the day but they are not padded. There is no waiter service.

The roads are steep and narrow with hairpin bends. Do not attempt if you are scared of heights 😂 You must go early, by 11 there were no car parking spaces left so people just parked on the road making the trip down the hairpin road even more perilous.

It is stoney so bring beach shoes.

There are toilet facilities, showers and a small cafe shop which is reasonably priced.

Enjoy your day.

Recommendation to arrive in the morning by 9.30am to find a place for the beachfront car and to consult wave forecasts.
In the morning spectacular sea, at about 11.30 the beach fills up to the unlikely and the water gets dirty thanks to the yachts that park in front of it.
But a visit is worth it .. maybe not all day a bath and go.
