It's an interesting drive up. Thoroughly enjoyed the change of scenery but do your research regarding walks and routes before you go as the signage is a bit dodgy. At the summit we had about 30 ft of vis towards Argistoli but amazing views behind us. Well worth it. Don't be put off that you walk down to head up... More

As everybody says the road up (from the north) is very good. To get to the summit, Park by the masts and take the obvious track away from the masts. This track starts level but then goes downhill. Perservere even though ( counter intuitively) it keeps going down, and after 15 mins you will come to two big signs with... More

We chickened out and decided to drive not hike as the weather was so hot. Take the main road, which is in very good condition especially higher up the mountain where is crosses the line into the National Park. The road on Skala side of the mountain is only for people with 4x4s! I really enjoyed the drive up and... More

We visited the peak as a part of a coach tour - the views on the winding road up are spectacular, but there is something almost other-wordly about being so high up when you get to the top. The air is thinner and cooler and you're above the clouds - unfortunately it got pretty cloudy by the time we got... More

Absolutely loved the hiking trip to the top of mount Aenos. Me and my partner are rather sporty so we walked to the top (about 4hrs) and jogged all the way down (2.5hrs) - all this was about 33km round trip. The views on the way and especially at the top were breathtaking. There is also a way to drive... More

We had an amazing drive to the top of this mountain. The views on the way up and when you get to the top are nothing short of amazing. It is incredibly quiet when you get to the top making it a very relaxing experience.

Set out from Lourdata with a good map of the island to drive and walk up Mount Ainos (other spellings are available) we had read that the road through the national park was smooth Tarmac and looked forward to it in our little rental car. The main road south on the island is the usual Kefalonian fare turning to concrete... More

We went to Mount Aenos only to see the wild horses. All though we didn't see any horses the first time we went, we had the pleasure of an incredible view over the entire Island! (almost). If you want to see the horses, every review says that you have to go to the Monastery Zoodochus Pigi. Well you can only... More

Mount Aenos was one of the highlights of our holiday and can't understand why more people don't make the trip up there. The drive is far easier and less scarier than you would expect. We took main road which runs from Argostoli towards Sami which is an easy drive, then turned righted towards the summit. Once you get to the... More

There is a lot of view points, where you can sit on bench and enjoying best views on Kefalonia.. You can see far away, this is good place where you can just chill and relax. Very quiet place. I saw a lot of wild animals around.
