There are just some stones and small ruins here. It's hard to imagine what it used to be. Loads and loads and loads of tourists and school kids. The setting is beautiful but definitely not worth the 100-euro day tours from Athens. It's almost like...More

Walking tour of the excavated sites of Delphi perched on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Considered one of the most important places in Greek history, its stunning setting and ancient ruins are inspirational. Again good shoes are a must &...More

Definitely worth a good visit if you want to get a visual of ancient Greek culture and history. Bring a good guide book so you don't miss the significance of this place in the ancient world.

Be prepared to hike up hill. It took us about 30 minutes with photo stops to hike up to the top. Very nice view on the way up. If you visit during the summer, it can be very very hot. Wear a cap, sunglass and...More

We got there at eight in the morning which was excellent as we managed to avoid the crowds till we were about halfway on the way down. And if we had started two hours later it would have been too hot to get to the...More

A place to visit if you are at Delphi. It will be better to have tour guide or if not you got to do a lot of studying / research before coming here.

Delphi is the most sacred place in Greece. The temple of Athena Pronaia is a very special place to meditate and so is the walk up to the Sanctuary of Apollo.

Not too far of a drive from Athens. The place is magical in a great setting. The ruins were nice, but nothing spectacular. The main focus is the setting and what went on. The footsteps that were left behind. I definitely recommend going earlier as...More

I couldn't get over the fact that you were over 1000 ft from the sea in these incredibly beautiful mountains, then there are all these ruins amongst them. Though there are many steps, it can be accomplished by most unless in a wheelchair, though crutches...More

Hi I am planning to visit Delphi in April. Our flight lands at 12.45 and we were planning on hiring a car and driving straight there from the airport. I've seen the journey can take up to 2 1/2 hours. Realistically, if we arrived at 3.30 would we have enough time to view everything?

Hi, can you tell me where you parked? We are planning a trip, and will have only 2.5 hours to spend there, so we want it well planned! Any other tips would be helpful. Thanks!

Hello, I took the local bus up, but there appeared to be ample parking all within an easy walk of the site. Enjoy!

Hi, I would like to know if the signage is good enough that a tour guide through the site is unnecessary? Thanks!

Tour guides in Greece are very qualified as they must be licensed by the ministry of culture. However, if you are not an archaeology buff, visit the museum first as previous travellers have recommended and perhaps buy a... More
