We came across the Theater on the way to the Acropolis, and at the time it was being restored so we were not able to sit in the theater. It is absolutely amazing to see the detail incorporated into building the site.

You come across it on your way up to the Acropolis - and it's so amazing: you've seen lots and lots of photos of it, and you think it's one of those well-guarded places that you can only admire from the outside, but no! There it is, right in front of you, and you can enter it, walk around, sit... More

This is one of the reasons I say to take your time while viewing these ancient sites. On the walk up to the Acropolis and Parthenon, this is one of the places you will see. Take your time and have a seat.. let your imagination take you back.

After visiting the top of the Acropolis, I had time, so I decided to go down to see the Theater of Dionysus (on the south slope of the Acropolis), You walk down a dirt path, but there's no sign for when you are supposed to turn right. Look for the path to split. (I missed it and turned around when... More

This theatre is located right on the slopes of the Acropolis and has a great view of the city. The theatre itself is very cool and has amazing shows most days. If you don't go for a show, it is not very interesting, but you can take a great picture of the theatre at the top of the Acropolis.

I bought a 5 day, 7 ancient sights ticket (The Acropolis, The Theatre of Dionysus, The Temple of Zeus, Ancient Agora, Kerameikos, Roman Agora and Hadrian's Library) all for 30 Euros (well worth it). This theatre is on the slopes of The Acropolis and, while you can see it from atop the Acropolis, you cannot get a true feel for... More
