Just off Athinas street, Psirri is centred on Plateia Iroon. Some of the best restaurants in Athens are here and they're slightly cheaper than the ones in Plaka. Easy to visit about a 10 to 15minute walk from Syntagma.

This is one of my favorite parts of the city. Not so crowded and touristy as Plaka, with many excellent restaurants, tavern and bars with vibrant atmosphere, I really enjoy walking its narrow streets and mingling with locals.

The Psirri neighbourhood is just a stones throw away from Plaka and the Monastiraki square. It is a vibrant and happening neighbourhood with a much more local feel to it than that of Plaka with less tourists and more locals. Home to the super trendy...More

Just next door to Plaka but more of a local place. Daytime very peaceful, night time buzzing atmosphere for food and drink well worth a visit

Nice neighborhood, here is full of restaurants, bars and cafes. There are also many people, but at the same time the place looks calm. I think there are some of the best Greek restaurants here.

Trendy and colorful off the beaten path. We stumbled upon this gem of an area. It just felt right. It is a must find. Take some time, have a drink and shop. Enjoy the colors.

Until the early 1990s, Psyri had a bad reputation, but it has now become one of the most trendy choices in the centre of Athens for accommodation, entertainment and food hospitality. The central square of Psyri is called plateia Iroon (Heroes square), because the streets...More

Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a

Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is
where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the
tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki
