I must admit on being disappointed! I was expecting a Museu Of instruments! Lovely tour with a Guide well versed in what was on the mind of the architect and the purpose of his vision with the soundproofing specialty glass system and moveable seats in...More
My family were very keen to visit this impressive piece of modern architecture even though I tried to tell them there was no museum. You can do a guided tour but otherwise all you see inside is the foyer area and cafe.
This is a very interesting building with a very industrial feel inside it, but I have had to mark it down as the lift system was exceedingly difficult to use - it turned out that there was a concert on one of the floors so...More
Oh boy were we surprised by the design of this building when we went to a concert in Porto last week. The concert was fabulous, the hall was a mess. First of all the entrance is unclear. Well, yes, there's a big, wide, staircase (bannisters?)...More

try to catch a concert there, the events are well chosen and the hall is quite beautiful, even the rear seats are very well situated.

The funny fact that casa da musica was actually designed as a house (and rejected by the client) makes this project a bit more interesting. Do try to hear a presentation, in the bigger or smaller rooms - which might be even nicer.
