We went at night and in the rain , partly to take shelter from the rain , so we didn't see much, but it saved a hilly walk! Not that long a trip, but for a few Euros you get what you pay for.

This busy funicular takes you from Porto's waterfront up to the city tram stop and close to the Porto cathedral. It costs 2.50€ which is a bargain compared to trying to catch a cab. It is used by locals and tourists to negotiate this hilly...More

I did not ride the funicular ... but I stood on the bridge and watched it go up and down, saving lots and lots of steps for many people. If I were closer, I would have taken this ride.

This Funicular is very handy to go up to the town center after crossing the Luis I bridge on the lower level or to go back down after crossing on the upper level to Porto side. It costs €2.50 per person each way. The entrance...More

Easy way to get from the top to the bottom in Porto. Easier that the uphill walk, Also gives a great view across the Douro . Well worth the 2.5 euro.

Not the best we've been on, not really any views, but our 10 year old liked it, bit dear for what it was

Although we generally prefer to walk most places, we decided to try the funicular for something different. It only costs €2:50 per person and is over very quickly, but you do get very good views - and a short rest!

We had been walking a lot and walking back up the hill was not an option, so the funicular was. This is a fast way from the riverside to near Soa Bento station. Nice views of the bridge Luis 1 as you move up!

This is a good way to get to the top of the bridge with some lovely views of river and bridge. If you have not been on one before its a good thing to do
