What looks like one enormous church is actually two separate buildings. Igreja do Carmo and Igreja dos Carmelitas are both extravagant sights to behold. The Igreja do Carmo is the one on the right as you face them with the absolutely stunning blue and white tiled side wall…

The tile work on this Church is just spectacular. We took various pictures and then walked up. Lise to really see the tiles. We did go into the church and it is indeed spectacular and large. It’s just amazing that these churches were built so grand inside and out.

Dear L O, Thank you for your comment and evaluation. I'm just left without knowing if you visited everything (Noble room, Vestments room, Habits' room and Sacristy), or if you just went into those places, which would be just a small part of our visit. Kind regards, Isabel Bastos Coordinator of the Touristic Circuit

Dear RobertJE, Thank you for your visit to the Touristic Circuit of the Ordem do Carmo and for your evaluation. Both are very important to us to improve our services. We're truly happy you enjoyed it to the point of a 4 star! We do hope you enjoyed our city and that you may be able to visit us again. We are working in new services for you. The house was built merely because of lighting issues, and ended up being so much more thanks to history. We appreciate your visit. - Kind regards, Isabel Bastos (Coordinator of the Touristic Circuit of the Ordem do Carmo) Share your pictures and insights with us. Dear Bozeman-Dublin, Thank you so much for your visit to the Touristic Circuit of the Ordem do Carmo, a highly esteemed contribute for us to keep our church and heritage, and also for your evaluation. Both are very important to us to improve our services. We're truly happy you enjoyed it to the point of a 5 star! I must only rectify that it was the sacristan and his family that lived in the house, and not the priest. We do hope you enjoyed our city and that you may be able to visit us again. We are working in new services for you. Kind regards, Isabel Bastos (Coordinator of the Touristic Circuit of the Ordem do Carmo) Share your pictures and insights with us.
