Crowded area

Perhaps one of the touristy áreas but strongly recommend to visit it. Also, there are lots bars and restaurant but not with good prices due to the tourists.

We had a brief 1 hour stop here some years ago and promised we would come back. Yet again it didn't disappoint. The half mile spot along the banks of the river Douro is spectacular and teaming with bars and restaurants. Yes there are plenty of street sellers trying to flog you cheap watches and sunglasses however avoid their gaze... More

We enjoyed strolling along the riverfront, watching everyone on a beautiful spring day. The views are gorgeous and the people friendly.

This is a bustling riverside locale, but is rather touristy and so may not be for everyone. It is nice to wander around, but I wouldn't eat around here. You can use it as a base to catch a water taxi over to Gaia. The lovely pastel coloured houses are not as bright as tourist postcards would suggest...

WE felt in love in that place! Music, restaurants, full of life! You can enjoy the view of Pont e DomLuis I, Ribeira, Vila Nova da Gaia. You can sit down in one of many restaurant and enjoy the Vinho de Porto or just take a walk. Romantic and delightful place.

This riverside area is very popular with tourists. It provides great views of the bridges - particularly Ponte de Dom Luis I. Douro and across to the bodegos area. River cruises depart from here and there are numerous cafes and restaurants.
