In going through all the Portuguese palaces in Sintra, Lisbon, and Porto, nothing rivals the incredible workmanship and elegance of this building in the entire country. I don't think that anyone would argue with this. Not what I expected to find in Porto. However, the interior of this building is late 19th century or early 20th century and thus does... More

Took a guided tour of the former stock exchange building and it was very mediocre. The tour was given in both English and Portuguese so it took about 40min total. We were also the last group of the day so don't know if that had any impact on the guide. She was nice, but the facts givens were all that... More

This was the surprise of the Porto trip. Don't miss it. The commercial interests of the city were at their height in the late 1800's, and they built this building as a showcase. The interior rooms and murals rival most anything in Europe.

Plenty of curious stories, pretty furniture and tours in almost every language. Summarizing, a must to visit in Oporto.

Gorgeous architecture, floor, ceilings, lightening, right in the center of Oporto and in an easy 45-minute guided tour. The Palace has also a nice restaurant inside with a very convenient lunch deal, including very good wine. Definitely worth the visit!
