I really liked get lost in the historic center, the atmosphere was great and every corner had a beautiful little street with old houses, bars and good restaurants. Lovely.

The old Town. Most of the building here were built in the 400 - 500 years ago. It is amazing that they are still here. Most are used for shops, homes, offices. A great to visit.

This is a small quaint town but we came here after visiting Braga in the morning and were disappointed. If you are going to pick only one of these towns to visit, there is much more to see in Braga.

Guimaraes was a nice visit... cute gardensa dn sqaures around town .. streets can be an uphill walk so put on some good comfy shoes.

Guimarães historic centre is pretty different from other old towns around Portugal, it has more an Austrian look, less colours, yet, beautiful , worth a walk around the small streets...get lost in history for a while...
