First things first: this is absolutely a must-see in Sintra and I would recommend it over National Palace or Moorish Castle. The whole building has a completely extraordinary feel to it and it is not your average palace that you would see every day. That...More

The height of a visit to Sintra is the Pena Palace and the extensive grounds. Go at opening time to avoid the long ticket lines and visit the palace first before the crowds take over. Then walk around the park at your leisure. If you...More

We seriously considered not going to Sintra, after reading all the reviews about Intense crowds, high entry fees, annoying extra costs and rip-offs at every corner. However, we did go, by the public train from Cais de Sodre In Lisbon (under 2€ each for the...More

We have visited this castle on our last stop of hop on- hop off bus in the afternoon. And we succeeded to avoid queues at the entrance. Pretty expencive tickets - 14 euro per adult. But palace inside was more interesting than Rigaleiro one. Great...More

Beautiful experience, worth the money for a few hours visit. It's a nice experience just wondering around the decorated rooms. It will be good when they finish all their restoration work and can refurbish the kings quarters.

An incredible structure combining so many styles, colours and themes, a wonderful spot to explore. The palace itself is worth a trip but the gardens are a wonderful bonus with dozens of interesting attractions and places. Worth the ticket!

After taking the tram from the parking lot up the hill, the amazing vista of the Pena Palace comes into view. It is truly a fairytale castle on steroids. The colors, the turrets, the embellishments, all make it one of the most remarkable sites in...More

We bought a combo ticket for seniors that made visiting this palace, the National Pena palace and the Moors castle a bit cheaper. We drove up the loop road as early as we could muster to avoid the crowds. We didn't. In addition to the...More

How much time do you recommended for visiting the actual Palace of Pena, and also the Park? I Initially thought 2 hours, but perhaps that is too short a visit?

When you arrive at castle of the moors there is a ticket office or a machine outside, we used the machine outside and you pay by card. Very straight forward and fast

I will be visiting Sintra and will be staying approximately 30 in Lisbon (by taxi). Can anyone please tell me if taking a taxi is a good idea? Also, any detailed information about the best way to navigate to Pena place park, Castle of the Moors and Quinta da Regaleira. Any tips are welcome. THANKS!

One more point, if you buy tickets, go to the Tourist office as you can buy combined tickets at a reduced price and then do not have to wait in line at the Palaces. Quinta de La Regaleira is privately owned, so you can only... More
