We were informed the garden is closed for 6 months for restoration/ renovation which was very disappointing after the somewhat tiring walk to get there. Likely helpful to check to see if it's open before making the trek.

I loved my time strolling the grounds of this garden, it provided me with beautiful photos that capture the stillness. Perfect haven from the hustle and bustle of down town

It is more like a city park then like a botanical garden. There is nothing special there to pay for, it should be free and open to the public. If 2 don't have too much time in Lisbon, than 2 should better go to the Lisbon Oceanarium, Lisbon ZOO, Santa Justa lift, Torre de Belem, Park and National Palace of... More

Not that impressive an area. Has a lot of tropical trees but not any particular area offering any interesting landscaping. :Lack of maintenance. You could spend an hour strolling but would probably enjoy a local park area more without having to pay 2 euros for admission.

On our first day in Lisbon, we were excited to visit the Botanical Gardens and took the funicular from Restauradores up the tall hill and ventured around asking directions until we found the site. There was a small sign on the locked gate saying it was closed so we went inside to ask when it would be open. We were... More

Mainly an arboretum, with little information about the trees. There is a separate garden area up some steps, which we almost missed due to the appallingly poor signage, but that was disappointing too. Yes, we visited in September, so didn't expect to see lots of flowers, but what was there looked pretty neglected. The main reason we visited was for... More

This could be a beautiful space but alas it was very uncared for for. It has the potential to be lovely with great spaces and plants. The butterfly enclosure was closed yet still advertised, bad calling. It looks neglected and unwanted. As an avid gardener i can see through this and still enjoyed my walk around.

We may have gone at the wrong time of year, September, but there was only trees to see and hardly any flowers. Entrance was only 2 euros each so didn't feel too cheated.

Space is great, with so many interesting plants, treas etc. Only bad thing is that you can see that it is not maintained well. Even though this is the case, you shouldn't skip it, take a look and make your own thoughts about it. It is still calm and peaceful. There are benches where you can rest and read.

Of huge historic interest but sadly lacking in maintenance. No logical routing and the signing could be better. Many specimens outgrown their interest. Many benches broken.
