About
Time Out Market is a concept created from scratch by the Time Out Portugal team with only the best ideas and business projects in Lisboa – according to the editorial team. If it’s good, it goes in the magazine, if it’s great, it goes into the market. 24 restaurants, 8 bars, a dozen shops, a cooking school and a high-end music venue, all with the very best in Lisbon (the best chefs, the best steak, the best hamburger, the best sushi and the best live performances, amongst others); on the other hand the market is home to some of the city’s best known (and longest-running) market vendors of meat, fish, fruit and flowers. The foodhall has 40 restaurants/shops served by more than 500 seats in covered area and 250 more outside.

Wide selection of different foods but way too crowded and hot inside. We loved the Crush Donuts and wish we had gotten more

Food Tour!
Sep 2021
I have trouble walking very far so we decided to do our own "food & booze sampling tour" at the Time Out Market! it worked out perfectly. We were able to enjoy Vinho Verde, a port wine flight, a Super Bock, a great red wine and even received excellent recommendations from a store owner for the best wine & port to take home with us. We enjoyed Portugese cheese and meat, Cod Croquettes, mixed seafood platters that included octopus, sardines.and several other seafoods. The pasteis de nata we took back to the hotel with us for breakfast were superb! The highly recommended eclairs lived up to their recommendation!

This entire evening cost less that 50euros for the 2 of us excluding the 50euros we paid for the wines and port that we took home with us and then learned that they would have cost almost 3 times that much at home!

Yes. we missed the commentary that would have been provided by a tour guide but we received much local knowledge from many of the individual stall providers and locals seated near us. The Tine Out Market has what I would call "community seating" and if you just let it be known that you are interested in "Local food customs" you will receive plenty of "input"

A Total Success!

Touristy, but many locals visit too!
Aug 2021
You can get fresh produce, meat and fish on one side, and then get over 30 restaurant options on the other side! Tons of options from traditional Portuguese foods to more contemporary cuisine. Fantastic place to try many types of Portuguese cuisine. Don't forget to have a couple pasteis de nata at Manteigaria!

Tourist trap, overcrowded and not worth your money!
Aug 2021 • Couples
Disappointing. It’s an expensive, tourist trap. The servers are experts at ignoring you. The market is almost always overcrowded, which makes it almost impossible to find a place to comfortable sit and eat. The food is miserably prepared.

Lovely food
Sep 2021 • Couples
The food we ate here was excellent. Two really good burgers on the Thursday night 10/9 and two steak sandwiches on the Friday lunchtime. We had some great cocktails on the Friday night from a bartender from the time out bar so we decided to go there again on the Friday lunch 11/9. Sadly there was a different bartender that lunchtime who was so rude then gave out really nasty vibes when we didn’t tip him. Here’s a tip. Be nice, people will tip you.

Brilliant Indoor Market

Well worth a visit, all kinds of food and drinks available under a roof with seating in the middle, not too expensive either.

Checking of vaccine certificates on the door
Sep 2021
We were asked for our green cards to even get in here. The lady seemed bemused by an NHS vaccine pass and very confused by my sons CDC card from the USA.

Nice food, but crowded
Sep 2021 • Couples
As per my personal opinion it was to crowded and there were almost no free places to sit and enjoy the excellent food. The food looks nice, prices are relatively high. Worth a visit, but if you like to have e a drink and food only, better visit one of the sorounding Restaurants or Cafés.

Overrated!!!!
Sep 2021 • Couples
This place is a tourist trap. Food and wine all waaaaaaay overpriced for what you get. Food quality of the few nibbles we had was poor - cod with caramelised onions on bread - bread was soggy. Egg salad with caviar on bread was lacking the taste of caviar. Very disappointing.
