About
Time Out Market is a concept created from scratch by the Time Out Portugal team with only the best ideas and business projects in Lisboa – according to the editorial team. If it’s good, it goes in the magazine, if it’s great, it goes into the market. 24 restaurants, 8 bars, a dozen shops, a cooking school and a high-end music venue, all with the very best in Lisbon (the best chefs, the best steak, the best hamburger, the best sushi and the best live performances, amongst others); on the other hand the market is home to some of the city’s best known (and longest-running) market vendors of meat, fish, fruit and flowers. The foodhall has 40 restaurants/shops served by more than 500 seats in covered area and 250 more outside.

Strange experience! Sat at bar first right at entrance after struggling to find a seat to be treated absolutely terrible by a member of the bar staff, he firstly approached me to say my drink was disgusting (I had gotten it at a different promotion area serving port cocktails) he then proceeded to give everyone around the bar a shot to enjoy except me. At least 7/8 customers. He proceeded to mention I was English to other customers laughing (I’m actually Scottish). We left immediately after my husband returned from the rest room leaving the drinks behind. I have had a fantastic experience in Lisbon but really struggling to shake this experience off.

Visiting the Time Out Market is like having the world's food place in your lap. The selection of fine food and wine is incredible. You have to try the octopus hot dog at Sea Sea!

What a total let down. Henrique Sá Pessoa. Besides their lunch opening hours being off by an hour, no they dont open lunch at 11 as the sign clearly states, but 12. Knowing I wasted an hour of my day for this mediocre attempt at high end dining really burns my butt. The mashed potatos arrive luke warm and utterly tasteless. An entire packet of salt has just made it palitable, never mind the sad condition of the asparagus. This gets a zero at best. No one should be this useless at making mash. The crispy pork sandwich is served ice cold with out a single hint of crispy anything and is filled with grissle and joints. Who serves a fatty cut of pork cold? Chunks of cold fat is not gourmet. Skip this pretentious catastrophe.so tired of Michelin star chefs slapping their names on low end, poor quality food joints with high end pricing.

This is like a super food court. It's packed with people, but worth a visit. Many restaurants are represented here. I've eaten here several times and I think my favourite was the burger from Ground Burger. See my review there.

Chaos and carnage as everyone in Lisbon appeared to be in here when we visited. It did however have a certain vibe and as long as you don’t mind eating with others the choice of food will blow you away. There was nothing you couldn’t get all cooked freshly to order. Set put a s a market you can peruse each stall before what you would like to eat. The only downside is if you order from more than one place you might find yourself eating on your own while others in your parties have to wait. It’s certainly not cheap as they trade on there reputation and a tourist trap so be prepared to pay through the nose for a burger or pizza.

We visited here after seeing it on “Somebody Feed Phil” onNetflix, and thought it looked worth a try.

It basically consists of a large market type hall, filled with high tables and stools, surrounded by stalls serving many different types of Cuisine. The food and drink choice was amazing.

The only downside when we visited (around 2 pm) was that it was absolutely crowded with people, resulting in queues for each of the food stalls, and it took us 10 minutes to find a place for us to sit and eat our food.

Yes the food was good but it wasn’t a relaxing place to eat, but ok if you don’t mind being surrounded by crowds of people. Perhaps it is quieter at other times of the day?

We stopped here several times as it is a great jumping off point for train to Torre de Belem, Cascais, and several "hot spots". Great food, shopping, and drink options....with a social atmosphere!

I love the choice, the quality and the atmosphere. 100% worth a visit. I had a lovely array of foods and port tasters. It’s class, it’s clean and I really enjoyed it. Would recommend getting there early as by 1245 people were struggling to find a seat together
