LISBON ZOO – GO AROUND THE WORLD IN JUST ONE DAY

At Lisbon Zoo, we invite you to travel around the world without leaving Lisbon. Find the Sumatran Tigers in the dense vegetation of the Rainforest, observe lions, giraffes and elephants behaviour at the dry African Savannah and dazzle with the majestic flight of the colourful birds of South America.

Our mission is to develop and promote a zoological and botanical park, as a centre of conservation, reproduction and reintroduction of endangered species, through scientific investigation and environmental enrichment programs.

Along with education is a strong entertainment component that will ensure a great family time, always with the conviction that when visiting Lisbon Zoo you’re contributing to this great project of conservations of endangered species and their habitats.

Given the size of the city, it is a quite decent zoo, notwithstanding its 80's vibe - not exactly cutting edge in information and interaction. The cable cars make a great fun ride especially if you're with children. It is a classic weekend day out even for locals. Within easy reach from anywhere since it is next to a bus... More

Lisbon Zoo is a great place to spend the day. The animals have natural habitats and the zoo has attractions that entertain every member of the family. You can take your basket and have a pick-nick in the park

The most important thing is our nephew enjoyed it! We had an enjoyable day walking around and viewing the animals; we were pleasantly surprised to see and read about the Zoo's conservation efforts. We enjoyed the dolphin show, the wild bird show, the cable car and the general ambience. All that we did was included in the entrance fee, which... More

Lisbon zoo is easily assessable with plenty of outside areas to include McDonalds, rides, shops etc The free chairlift is a must and last 23minutes. Bring ID if you are 65+ for discount Your hotel should have discount vouchers.

The zoo is really lovely, lots of different animals to see and it´s big enough to spend a day there.

Quaint old fashioned zoo with a good collection of animals, the highlight of the visit was the aerial ride that took you over the animal enclosures in something that resembled a shopping trolley absolutely awesome and definitely something you would not find in blighty

Always a good place to visit and relax while visiting the animals. Clean and pleasant with lots of places to rest. I recommend the trip on the cable car. Well served with amenities.

I visited the zoo at 5pm (it's open until 8pm), figuring that it would be quieter than earlier in the day...and I was pleased with that decision. Very tranquil and still enough time to walk around and see everything. Always undecided about zoos...it's lovely to see the animals but can't help wondering how well they are cared for and their... On our last day in Lisbon, we came here since we always seem to visit zoos on our vacations. This zoo is compact but it has so many exhibits. This place has possibly the BEST primate exhibit I have ever visited. The gorilla and chimpanzee exhibit is adjacent to each other. There were 7 gorillas and at least 15 chimpanzees... More

Not a massive fan of zoos but our daughter likes animals. It is definitely one of the better zoos ive been to. Very clean and well layed out. Unfortunately the cable cars weren't working. This would've been something we would like to have gone on.
