This was near my hotel. I went early morning and at night. Totally different atmosphere! Early morning is quiet with peaceful views. The light in the morning for photography is stunning. At night, it comes alive! The night views are nice too. There are food stalls, tables and the area has a lovely atmosphere.

One of my favorite views of the city. I have so many photos taken from this spot. Also a great place to sit on a day that is not windy. There is a kiosque here for drinks. Nice landscaping as well.

this was our starting point in visiting Lisbon after parking the car in the Botanic

For years I had been trying to convince my wife to move to Europe with no takers. Then a few years back we visited Lisbon for a week. A few days after we arrived we visited Sao Roque church and then the nearby lookout, the Miradoura Alcantara. It was a lively place that captivated us. Perched on a high hill we looked out on an expansive view of the city that was breathtaking. They had a bunch of huts offering food, there were benches to sit and eat and there was live music and we could not resist the temptation to eat there and so we did. The chicken dinner was fresh and delicious. The music was great and the view… We were having as good a time as you could have, yet I was shocked, as unprompted my wife exclaimed, almost with a sigh, “I could live here.” Who knew it could be so easy? No, we didn’t move, unfortunately, but it gives you an idea of how enchanting it was. So this trip we decided to repeat that day – Sao Roque then here. It was just as magical. No plans yet to move. Alas.

It’s a scenic place for sure and absolutely worth the walk or a tram ride, but this place is not that nice in the evening - full of chill-out “hipsters” smoking weed.

This is a well established and popular viewpoint, it's facing eastward so no point coming here for the sunset view as I did :-(
Nevertheless, it's a beautiful and relaxing spot, many benches too, bring a bottle of wine and enjoy!

This is a large two-level observation deck, built on the walls of the aqueduct, well equipped. Flower beds, a fountain, trees, benches, and breathtaking views of Lisbon are waiting for you here. The observation deck was built in the 19th century, its name is due to the monastery of the same name São Pedro de Alcântara, which is located opposite. You can go down immediately on the funicular, or you can go further in the direction of the church of St. Roch.

Fantastic panorama of the city. A beautiful vantage point and square. Easily accessible, you can get there by tram, by Elevador da Gloria or on foot. Among the many viewpoints in Lisbon, Sao Pedro De Alcantara stands out for offering all visitors a panoramic view of the eastern part of Lisbon and the south bank of the River Tagus. It has telescopes that allow you to see some buildings or details up close. This place has a bar and a kiosk with a terrace, as well as many benches scattered around the garden. Beautiful park, view and atmosphere. I recommend you visit it at least once.

Came here during sunset last night.

It was rather disappointing. Only half of the view is unlocked. And there is just one view in 1 direction. I recommend you skip this unless you live close by.
